Get a comprehensive introduction to New York’s Metropolitan Museum on a guided tour that traverses 5 continents and 5,000 years of art. Save time on your trip to NYC with skip-the-line access to the population attraction.

Travel back to Ancient Egypt at the Temple of Dendur and learn how it was brought to the museum with the support of Jackie Onassis. Find out about Egyptian burial traditions at Pernod’s Tomb and hear about the Rockefeller who perished collecting artifacts in New Guinea.

See a fully intact Roman ruin from Pompeii, and marvel at paintings by Raphael, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Picasso. Listen to tales form the strange lives of unusual artists along the way.

Look at “Madame X” by John Singer Sargent, and discover why it caused such an outrage in Paris. You will also see one of the most recognizable paintings in the US at “Washington Crossing the Delaware” by German American artist Emanuel Gottlieb Leutze.

Enjoy having a guide that is a historian who is passionate about the art on display, providing fascinating anecdotes instead of boring facts and figures. In addition, you’ll have access to the Met’s exclusive rooftop terrace when it's open (May to October).

Marvel at panoramic views over Central Park and beyond as your guide tells you about the surrounding city and points out where Jackie Onassis once lived, and which celebrities now have their homes on the park perimeter.

Your pre-reserved ticket includes a museum donation, so you won’t have to wait in long access lines, or shell out for the suggested donation once inside

The museum is so big and versatile that you won't find your way without a tour guide. Our tour girl was witty, informative and very energetic. The more important ting to mention is to arrive on time or you won't find your group, and you'll have to buy new tickets to enter.

Our artistic teenage daughter wanted to visit the Met and we'd never been. So thankful that we booked a tour because it made the visit much more meaningful. The tour highlighted items in many of the Met's "rooms" --Egypt, early America, Armor, the Rooftop, Europe, etc -- but also kept us moving so that we didn't get bogged down in any one place. Our guide, Katie. was superb and had a great backstory to tell for every artifact and piece of art she showed us. All the stories were interesting; some were also funny or highlighted women and other marginalized groups. Three hours flew by and we left feeling like we'd learned a lot but would want to come back to learn more. We had plenty of time after the tour to visit the gift shop and some of the special exhibits and other areas we still wanted to see. On the drive home, we asked our daughter what she liked best, and she said, "Katie's stories."

The guide was excellent. Informed us of many of the art works at the museum. She also covered many areas in the museum that we were not aware of. This tour was one of the best we have been on. Well worth the price, which also included the admission to the museum if you wanted to go in after the tour.
