It will always be a long day, but it is well-organised and worth it
Well-run tour. Good bus and excellent and friendly guide (Lulu). 7 hours each way with a good stop location (mega supermarket with restaurant). Depart at 0400h and back at 2330h. About 4 four hours on site, including the excellent Maid of the Mist boat ride. The best bit. The poncho works but stand by to get wet - in parts at least. Due to delay getting up the lifts from the boat, there wasn't time to walk across to Canada and do the US side....so I can't comment on the time this would take. This is not part of the tour but once you are there you are free to walk around as you choose. There is no bus involved on site.
Very nice trip, everything you need to see
one day for D.C. is just enough, we saw everything which is worth visiting, first Arlington and JFK grave, then we went next to Pentagon and the Marines monument, then we stopped to see Washington monument and Lincoln memorial, also Korean War veterans memorial, there is enough time to see everything. Later you go to visit museums and you have free time to see one of the them which you like most (air & space/art gallery and so on), at the end you visit the capitol. While going by bus you can also see FBI building and streets of D.C. Very polite, cheerful and wise guide!

Thought this trip may be crammed, but opposite was true, plenty time to see the various highlights the coach visits. The driver was safe and smooth, the onboard guide was informative and friendly. If you’re in New York and have a day to spare, do it! It was one of the highlights of our holiday!

Wow, we are so glad we spent the extra money to take this tour. The guide made sure to give us all of the relevant and interesting stories and facts, but even more than that: they kept us on time, creating a really efficient experience. Doing it ourselves would be such a waste of time!
