The Big Apple brims with sightseeing possibilities, and the New York CityPASS provides you with the opportunity to visit six out of nine top attractions at a discount. Here's a look at what to expect.
Ascend to the oberservation deck on the 86th floor of the Empire State Building for those stunning views of the city. You'll also receive an audio guide that explains what you see from certain vantage points.
While visiting this excellent museum, the CityPASS also grants access to the Rose Center for Earth and Space. Plus, you can select either the Space Show or IMAX films in 2D or 3D.
Admission to MoMa with the CityPass also includes special exhibitions and a visit to The Cloisters Museum and Gardens, which must occur during the same week.
The CityPASS covers the ferry service, an audio guide, and admission to the Ellis Island Immigration Museum. However, it doesn't include tickets for the Statue of Liberty's crown, or monument access.
Every ticket to the 9/11 Memorial has a special entry time, and those with the CityPASS must visit after 2:00PM from April to September. Audio guides or a guided tour cost extra.
Though the Empire State Building, Metropolitan Museum of Art and the American Museum of Natural History are fixed CityPASS attractions, you can choose either the Top of the Rock Observation Deck or the Guggenheim Museum; decide on either the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island or a Circle Line Sightseeing Cruise, and opt for either the 9/11 Memorial and Museum or the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.
TheCityPass saves you 42% on the admission to the sites, and it also allows you to skip the line at certain attractions you've chosen to visit. Moreover, you have nine days to use it and visit the six places in any order you wish. When you book online, you have the choice of receiving either the voucher by e-mail or a delivery of the ticket booklet.
CityPASS holders also have the possibility to add on a discounted upgrade, such as a guided tour or an audio guide, at most of the attractions.

I chose an Option for two attractions, paid $64 - I chose a cruise around Manhattan (which didn't go around Manhattan due to high water & bridges - no ones fault) - got to the ticket counter with my voucher - required to pay $10 extra. For the second attraction I chose the 911 Memorial - Even with the voucher I had to wait 2.5 hours in line to get a ticket - then waited for another 1.5 hours to go into the museum. I chose a guided tour for an additional $20. I don't really think I saved any money or time using the Explorer Pass. I think this would work better buying the $132 pass offering options for more attractions which I didn't have time for - good for 30 days. I paid like $45 on my own to go to the top of the Empire State Building which was one of the options.
We had a similar pass for San Francisco last summer. It's so nice to have options and to be able to skip lines. The hint to go to the Rose Center entrance of the American Museum of Natural History was outstanding! Long lines due to the holidays and a Kwanza celebration but walked right in the side entrance.
Fantastic value for money pass that allows you visit more attractions than you could ever possibly fit in! 100% recommend to anyone visiting New York, especially if it’s your first time.
My pass didn’t work when I went to use it on my first attraction however I called the office and they were able to get this fixed for me within 20 minutes! Great service from the staff.
The attractions in New York where fantastic. The app unfortunately is not correct. Collection points where not correct. Leaving us to find a ticket point. So a little stressful.
