Full description

Enjoy a tour of New York's hotspots all in one day. Explore the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, and learn about their history and impact on the city from a local guide. Board a ferry and cross the New York Harbor to the Statue of Liberty. Take a self-guided audio tour with the provided headsets. Then, head to Ellis Island to learn about the immigrant experience at the Museum. About 40% of current US citizens can trace their ancestors to Ellis Island, see if you can too. Next, take the ferry back to the mainland and visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. These honor all those who lost their lives in the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993. See the 9/11 Museum with its over 10,000 artifacts. Learn how the events of that day impacted the world, and download and listen to the 'Witnessing History Tour" as you tour the exhibits. John was a phenomenal guide— he went above and beyond to ensure we had a fabulous experience! Friendly, knowledgeable, incredibly fun and a great sense of humor. The tour was incredible— I would recommend this to anyone visiting the city! We will be contacting Get Your Guide to request John for future travel plans!!

Our tour guide was a sixty something short Jewish ball of energy that was very engaging, enthusiastic and audible from a distance. I hope you get her. The tour is a bit of a marathon. We bailed out when we returned to the mainland “that’s the island of Manhattan” and got lunch from a food truck before doing the 911 museum on our own. The get your guide tour does not include pedestal access although it states that it does. I would do the trip again. PS A Man wrote this :)

Overall, it was a wonderful tour package. We had 11am admission tickets for the 911 Memorial and Museum. The experience is very heavy, first hand accounts from survivors and honors for those who were lost. We used the audio tour option on our smart phones and made our way around, it took just over an hour. From there we walked to Battery Park and met Vivian, our tour guide for the State of Liberty/Ellis Island tour. My only gripe was we were no able to go into the Statue of Liberty, apparently it requires another ticket but we were not aware of that and it was too late to purchase a ticket when we were on the island. Vivian was wonderful, very informative and friendly. I would recommend this tour to others.
