We had the bus/ferry combo and we enjoyed it very much. However, I do have a suggestion or two. First, the lines to get to the Liberty ferry were well managed until the dock, and then it was a free-for-all. It could be improved. Second, we spent way too much time in the sun while waiting for the ferries. In fact, a seventeen-year-old girl fainted in line, prompting the police to intervene. I think that investing in a covering for the docks would be a huge improvement.

It all started out well, we caught our bus at the m&m store in Time Square and got our tickets for the Statue of Liberty and the Empire state building. The bus ride to battery park was excellent, so was our tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The only issue we had was with our return journey from the 911 memorial, there was a huge queue waiting for the bus. The first two bus that came along were full, the third bus was empty. We were waiting an hour for this bus. I complained to the Big Bus Co and they quickly compensated me for my troubles. The next day we used our Empire state building pass, that trip was also a great experience. I feel our trips were excellent value for money and Big Bus quickly addressed my issue quickly and efficiently.

It was as expected, having toured in many other countries with the same tour company. The weather didn't quite play it's part on the day we used it, but we still got the most out of the tour and buses were generally on time and could usually get a seat so all was good for our day on the big bus tour.
