Full description
Your gastronomic adventure begins in the French Quarter. In the early afternoon, meet your friendly, food‐loving guide and set off through the lively Vieux Carré (Old Square). The 3‐hour excursion includes up to 9 food tastings – and about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) of walking to burn it off. Your first stop is SoBou, part of the acclaimed Commander’s Palace enterprise. Relish in their rustic, Cajun-style gumbo served with warm potato salad. If you’d like, grab yourself a drink at the bar before continuing on (own expense). Make a quick pit stop at a popular hot sauce bar to sample dozens of hot sauce varieties. Head to Leah’s Pralines, where you can sample a Creole classic or a new innovation such as bacon pecan brittle.  Next it's on to NOLA Poboys. Hear about seafood harvesting in Louisiana before biting into a fresh‐made fried catfish po-boy. At NOLA Poboys you’ll experience another New Orleans original, the meaty Muffuletta sandwich and savory boudin balls. Hopefully you will not have filled up already, because the next stop is the Creole Cookery for red beans and rice. Finally, end with a dessert of bananas foster bread pudding.

This was a very interesting and insightful tour. You literally get a sample of New Orleans culture, which is sure to delight your taste buds. This was my husband's first time trying a Poboy, and dare I say, he loved it! It was also both of our first time trying the muffuletta, and it was awesome.Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, because there is quite a bit of walking, but it is definitely worth it.

We had a blast with Beth as our guide! She made the tour informative and fun while still giving us space and time and each stop. She was approachable and very willing to answer all the questions we asked. The food was all delicious. We left satisfied (we came fairly hungry, with only a light breakfast in our belly). I’d recommend it to anyone visiting, for sure.

We like to take food tours when visiting other places, and this one ranked up their with the best (Secret Food Tour Rome) that we've ever done! Beth was a great guide and knew a lot about the food and cooking it, as well as the history of NOLA. It's clear she loves her job!
