  • Admire fantastic architecture and learn about the past owners of these plantations
  • Witness breathtaking scenery, and learn of a rich culture and heritage
Overview
Take a half-day tour around a magnificent plantation home, and let these witnesses to the past teach you about historic Louisiana. Choose between three of the best-preserved plantations in New Orleans' Plantation Country.
What to Expect
Visit Plantation Country to view one of Louisiana's cultural and historic homes. History, architecture, beauty and adventure can be found at each of the plantations that you will visit along the legendary River Road. Take a tour round San Francisco, Laura or Oak Alley Plantations and witness history.

See antique furniture, traditional plantation architecture, and the plantation grounds just as they appeared hundreds of years ago. Each home is breathtaking, memorable and truly a piece of antebellum Louisiana, the only problem is deciding which to choose!

The San Francisco Plantation is a galleried house of the Creole open suite style. It is nestled under centuries-old live oaks and contains one of the finest antique collections in the country.

The Oak Alley Plantation was built in 1837-39. It is famous for its alley of 28 evenly spaced live oak trees, believed to be at least 100 years older than the big house itself.

The Laura Plantation was built in 1805. The “memoirs of Laura” exhibit will transport guests into the lives of the creole men, women, slaves and children of the past who have occupied this plantation.
