Full description

Climb aboard a unique airboat to explore Louisiana’s wetlands south of New Orleans in a truly unique fashion. Board an airboat just 30 minutes from downtown New Orleans, and listen to informative commentary as you zip through the bayou and squeeze into tiny canals hidden deep in the swamp. For 105 minutes, the captains at Airboat Adventures share some of the most beautiful and secluded areas of Louisiana. Wildlife such as alligators, turtles, and birds are common sights, but you never know what else might come out to visit! Round-trip transfers are available from New Orleans for guests without a car. Upon arrival, check-in to the Airboats Adventures facilities, before departing on the airboat to zip across the swamps. Grab a snack at the gift shop, or check out Sugar and Flour, the only albino alligators on the bayou. Picnic tables are available both inside and out, where you can relax before your airboat departure. The boats can hold between 6 and 27 people. Opt for a small boat, with capacity for 6-8 passangers, for a more personal tour, when the captain can spend more time with each guest. But even the large boats, with capacity for 15-27 passengers allow an up close experience with the wildlife of the Louisiana swamps. Sit back and enjoy the ride through a unique landscape, and listen as you captain feeds you fascinating bayou facts. You never know; he might haul in a ‘gator if the opportunity arises, or even let you hold a baby ‘gator!

The actual tour amazing! The process to get there no so much. The “3rd party” or whatever that handles the transport and this get your guide website could’ve been better. The email said pick up at the cathedral and also said I’d be contacted for further details. Never got called and after two calls the day of after standing at the cathedral since 815am they finally figured out where our pick up would be…two blocks over and 20mins later! I almost gave up as it was frustrating to have no idea who we were looking for or where we should be. Glad we didn’t give up because the actual swamp tour was amazing!

We did both the Everglades and this tour during our trip. The Everglades was awesome, but this tour blew the Everglades out of the water (no pun intended)! We were able to see a lot of gators up close and personal, whereas the Everglades sightings were a little more distant. Our captain, Earl, was very knowledgeable and very entertaining. His language was a bit colorful (but not too much), which normally is a bit bothersome to us, but this tour was actually an exception. We don't normally tip tour guides, but we tipped Earl, he was that good. He also gave a few recommendations of places to eat. One of those was a nearby seafood place called Boutte's (they have other options if you're not into seafood). We tried it, and will second the recommendation. Plus, their onion rings are out of this world! Take this tour! Ask for Captain Earl, the big burly guy that grew up local to the area.

This tour was AWESOME! I’ve always wanted to go on an airboat and see gators and this did not disappoint. Our tour guide was T Earl and he is funny, knows the swamp in and out, and has a family history in the place. I would 100% recommend this tour. Amazing all around.
