Full description

Climb aboard a unique airboat to explore Louisiana’s wetlands south of New Orleans in a truly unique fashion. Board an airboat just 30 minutes from downtown New Orleans, and listen to informative commentary as you zip through the bayou and squeeze into tiny canals hidden deep in the swamp. For 105 minutes, the captains at Airboat Adventures share some of the most beautiful and secluded areas of Louisiana. Wildlife such as alligators, turtles, and birds are common sights, but you never know what else might come out to visit! Round-trip transfers are available from New Orleans for guests without a car. Upon arrival, check-in to the Airboats Adventures facilities, before departing on the airboat to zip across the swamps. Grab a snack at the gift shop, or check out Sugar and Flour, the only albino alligators on the bayou. Picnic tables are available both inside and out, where you can relax before your airboat departure. The boats can hold between 6 and 27 people. Opt for a small boat, with capacity for 6-8 passangers, for a more personal tour, when the captain can spend more time with each guest. But even the large boats, with capacity for 15-27 passengers allow an up close experience with the wildlife of the Louisiana swamps. Sit back and enjoy the ride through a unique landscape, and listen as you captain feeds you fascinating bayou facts. You never know; he might haul in a ‘gator if the opportunity arises, or even let you hold a baby ‘gator!

We’ve spent 4 nights in each of New York, Chicago and New Orleans on this holiday. This tour was by far the best when it came to value for money out of all the activities we did. Would highly recommend the small air boat tour even at the extra cost.

I don’t usually book tours like this when we go on vacation just because I like to be lazy and more spontaneous, but with it being Jazzfest, I figured it couldn’t hurt, plus all the reviews were so good. All I can say is, WOW! What an experience!! Steve, our guide was absolutely AMAZING. He got gators to come right up to (And even on) the edge of the boat. There were tons of gators out and then really loved coming up to the boat for snacks (Not us, but snacks that Steve had for them). He got them to jump out of the water and gave us so much info about the swamp and gators. It was insane. I would do this tour again and again. We will definitely be back next time we’re in New Orleans. We did the smaller airboat and it was SO worth the extra $ because it has the ledge on the edge for gator to put their feet up! The airboats are crazy too! They seamlessly cruise right over all the vegetation and you don’t feel a single bump. They also let you bring drinks with you on the boats!

This tour was awesome. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had a great personality. We saw a lot of gators and also got to see our guide interact with a gator he called “Who Dat” They put on a little show for us, it was so cool. 5 stars for sure,, would definitely recommend!
