Overview
Experience a city re-born: See New Orleans and post-Katrina regions of the city in a new light. Tour the French Quarter, City Park, and St. Louis Cemetery, and view the destruction and rebirth of the city after Hurricane Katrina.
What to Expect
See New Orleans in a new light. Join this tour for an understanding of what is the same, what has changed, and what remains. Begin in the French Quarter, discovering the architecture and history of the old Creole city. Visit Jackson Square, Saint Louis Cathedral, and the Pontalba row houses, and enjoy a stunning view of the Mississippi River.

From the French Quarter, guests enjoy a drive past the French Market and the old US Mint. Next, ride through Faubourg Marigny and east along the Industrial Canal to see the largest levee breach which destroyed the 9th Ward.

Witness both the desolation and budding rebirth there, showing Harry Connick Jr.'s and Ellis Marsalis' project: Habitat For Humanity's colorful Musicians' Village site, an island of hope and color in the middle of the Upper Ninth Ward still full of desolation and sadness.

Take a walking tour of St Louis Cemetery on Esplanade Ave. Next, ride along peaceful Bayou St. John, where guests view raised houses from the late 1700s. Discover City Park and its antique carousel and centuries-old live oaks before pausing for a break.

Guests ride back past City Park to the London Avenue Canal Breaches. Driving along the lakeshore past the marinas, the tour reaches its 3rd levee breach at the 17th Street Canal. Continue through the Uptown district to see Tulane and Loyola Universities, the 176-year-old streetcar line, and St. Charles Avenue’s grand colonial mansions. Finally, check out the Garden District and the famous historic (and possibly haunted) homes there.

The final portion of the tour is downtown. Visit the Arts District and the Warehouse Section. Before you return to your hotel, swing by the World War II Museum, go around the Superdome (critically important to understanding Katrina), and experience the heart of the business district.
