Full description
Join this tour in the Manchac Swamp on a real life adventure for the whole family. Your local captains will take you on an exciting journey to explore Louisiana's abundant wildlife in the bayous of Cajun Country. Journey by boat, Cajun-style, for a tour through the heart of Southern Louisiana's swamplands. Your swamp boat will take you into the meandering bayous where you'll see moss-draped cypress trees, fascinating plant life, and the creatures who make their homes here. Swamp creatures are used to seeing the tour boats, so you'll likely catch a glimpse of various birds, snakes, deer, and fish, and possibly even an alligator. As your boat drifts through the waterways, you will learn about the Louisiana Wetlands, the inhabitants of the swamp–particularly the life and habits of the American Alligator–as well as the unique history of the local Cajun town of Frenier.

its always like stepping into the unknown when it comes down to booking tours, however this one did not disappoint in any way. Communication was excelllent from booking through to the tour itself. We were picked up from our hotel in New Orleans by Big Joe who briefed us all clearly on what was going to happen and what we needed to do. He gave us a guided run down of places and history as when travelled to the Swamp Tour venue its self. We only booked onto the swamp tour but you could go onto the plantation tour afterwards. Big Joe was very knowledgeable and so was the captain of our vessel whose name I sadly cannot recall at this stage, other than to say we went on it on Monday 2nd March at mid day and we’re amongst the pink ticket holders? The tour was great and we were able to wildlife close up. I would thoroughly recommend Cajun Pride Tours and Get Your Guide who we booked it through. Thank you all for a great memory to last forever.

This was my first time kayaking and it was a scary at first. I quickly learned that it is not scary when we got on the water. The group I was with and the tour guides were very helpful in teaching me how to use a kayak. They would also reassure me that I was doing fine and also did well making sure everyone was doing well. The scenery was beautiful, especially for the sunset tour.

A good introduction to the swamp environment with verbal description and some demonstrations of wild life. I brought friends to see more real wild animals (like wild boars) and birds and to travel in the wild bushes in shallower water to close to swamp vegetation like l experienced with another vendor a few years ago. I guess it is not possible here because of the different setting and the much bigger boats being used.
