What to Expect
You will be picked up at 7 am. and driven to Okhla Bird Sanctuary for birding. It's a half an hour drive from Delhi is Okhla Bird Sanctuary. The Okhla Bird Sanctuary has an area of approximately 4 square kilometers and is situated at the entrance of NOIDA in Gautam Budh Nagar. It is situated at a point where river Yamuna enters the state of Uttar Pradesh leaving the territory of Delhi.
Over 300 species of birds can be spotted in Okhla Bird Sanctuary, out of which approximately 160 species are of migratory birds from Tibet, Europe and Siberia for their winter sojourn. With the onset of winters, these migratory birds start coming in from the month of November and as soon as the summers set in, they start flying back to their homes. Their stay is for nearly 3-4 months from November to March, which is also a suitable time for bird lovers to visit the sanctuary. These include the Northern Shoveller, Gadwall, The Northern Pintail, Ruddy Shelduck, Garganey, Common Shelduck, Pochard, Pelican, Gadwal,s Mallard and many more. Later, proceed for a sumptuous lunch. After lunch transfer to your hotel / place of stay.
