What to Expect
Take a full-day tour from Delhi to discover one of the great wonders of the world, the beautiful and romantic Taj Mahal, as well as the historic city of Agra.

Depart from Delhi and travel in comfort to Agra by air-conditioned vehicle. You will have the services of a professional English-speaking guide to explain every detail of the beautiful Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.

Agra is considered the most romantic city in India, most famous for the marble edifice of the Taj Mahal. The most majestic of palaces, the white domed marble mausoleum was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved third wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

One of the finest examples of Mughal architecture, it combines elements from Persian, Turkish, and Indian architectural styles.

You will explore the city of Agra in detail. Located on the banks of the River Yamuna, the city is a principal part of the Northern Indian Plains, and its most significant monuments were built during the medieval period of the Great Mughals rulers of India.

It was Badal Singh who established the city in 1475, and it is mentioned in the Mahabharata as Agraban. Later, Sikander Lodhi made Agra his capital and the royal capital, and in the mid 16th-Century and 17th-Century many monuments were built that give Agra its unique charm today.

The stunning Murghal architecture reached its zenith during the reign of Akbar, Jehangir, and Shah Jahan. Agra also became a center of art, culture, commerce, and learning during Akbar's reign.

Among its exceptional monuments are Agra Fort, and the monumental Sikandra, one of the best-preserved monuments of India, and famous for Akbar’s mausoleum, which displays a harmonious blend of Hindu, Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, and Jain designs and motifs.

After your full day exploring this jewel in India’s crown, drive back to Delhi for a late evening drop-off.
