Visit Taj Mahal, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World on this day-trip from Delhi. You will also visit Agra Fort, the Tomb of Akbar, and Sikandra Fort on this action-packed excursion.
What to Expect
Get an early start sightseeing by departing New Delhi at 08:30. You will meet your driver in your hotel's lobby at 08:30 sharp and will then make the 6-hour journey to Agra, a city in Uttar Pradesh.
You will arrive in Agra and visit the Tomb of Akbar the Great, a Mughal emperor. Akbar's tomb reflects the completeness of his personality. The vast, beautifully carved, red-ochre sandstone tomb is set amidst a lush garden. Akbar himself planned his own tomb and selected a suitable site for it. Akbar's son Jahāngīr completed construction of this pyramidal tomb in 1613. The 99 names of Allah have been inscribed on the tomb.
Later, between 13:00 and 14:00, you will reach Agra Fort. Sometime called the Red Fort, Agra Fort was commissioned by the great Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565, and is another of Agra's World Heritage Sites.
After finishing lunch you will proceed to the Taj Mahal. Agra's Taj Mahal is one of the New Seven Wonders of the world, and one of three World Heritage Sites in Agra. Completed in 1653, the Tāj Mahal was built by the Mughal King Shāh Jahān as the final resting place for his beloved wife, Mumtāz Mahal. Finished in marble, it is perhaps India's most fascinating and beautiful monument.
