From the Mount of Olives you’ll have spectacular views of the city of Jerusalem. You will then stop at Mount Zion to visit King David's tomb, the room of the last supper and the Dormition Abbey. Once we’ve arrived, we’ll first enter the Old City. On Saturdays and Jewish holidays, instead of Yad Vashem, drive to Ein Karem, southwest of Jerusalem, traditionally known as birthplace of John the Baptist; Stroll in the narrow lanes of the picturesque neighborhood, stopping by Mary's spring and continue to visit the remarkable Church of Saint John the Baptist. We start the day by picking you up from your hotel in Tel Aviv and heading to the Dead Sea via the Judean hills. Our drive continues from there along the shores of the Dead Sea, to the desert fortress of Masada. When we arrive at Masada, your guide will tell you the heroic story of the Jewish fighters. You will ascend Masada by cable car and then tour the mountain fortress that was built by King Herod. This is the spot where the Zealots of the 1st century made their last stand against the Roman troops. Explore the site to see the remains of the walls, palaces, synagogue, water cisterns, mosaic floors, and Roman baths. Once we have completed this part of the tour, we will descend Masada by cable car. Our next destination is the Dead Sea. Its shores are the lowest point on dry land on earth. You will have the opportunity to float and swim in the Dead Sea waters that many believe have special therapeutic effects.
