Lovely cruise with awesome scenery and beautiful chorus of birdsong from prolific bellbirds. We did the Medlands to Anchorage walk, with a quick detour to Cleopatra Pools for a very quick dip. To ensure we were back at the meeting point 15 minutes before scheduled departure as instructed, we had to walk very fast, with no time for food or drink stops, nor time to enjoy the Cleopatra Pools or any of the beautiful lookoutpoints along the way. We had hoped to spend that 15 minutes before departure to rest, swim and enjoy some lunch and the beach; however we were ushered straight aboard and returned to Kaiteriteri 1 hour earlier than advertised.

We had pickup at the hotel which was so convenient for us. We then drove to Kaiteriteri with the driver who was informative and very clear with how the day was to go. The boat cruise was beautiful with a short stop to see a few seals resting on the rocks. We went all the way up the coast and then came down on the boat to get dropped off at Apple Tree Bay for our hike back up to Anchorage. The 7 km hike took us 2.5 hrs. because we stopped so many times for pictures and our take away lunch. It was a wonderful NZ experience .

Combo was really good. First the relaxing cruising along the shore and later the walk. When we walked we could not have too long breaks as the 4 hours walk was pretty intense with walking up and down. There were 2 cruises 3:45 and 5 pm that could pickup us so it was good feeling we will be on time if not for the first cruise than for the second. One thing that bothered me was the quality of the speakers. It was very hard to understand the guide on a cruise.
