Nazca Lines

After you are picked up from your hotel or bus station in Nazca, you will be transferred to Nazca Airport. On your arrival, one of our staff members will go through checking, and then you will be given a brief about your flight experience and safety instructions, and then you will have to wait for your flight. Once the aircraft has been set up, you will board the plane and take off to see one of the wonders of Peru, the Nazca Lines. This flight experience will last 35 minutes, and you will see 14 of the most representative Nazca Lines drawn on the stony surface of the Nazca desert. Representing animals and stylized plants, distributed in a vast labyrinth of lines, trapezes, triangles, and hairsprings, preserved for almost 2000 years. They are the most incredible remains that an ancient culture has left behind. These designs, some of which are as long as 500 meters, can be truly appreciated only from the sky at an altitude of 1,500 feet. Finally, you will return to the airport for your transfer back to your hotel or bus station.

Experience a 2-day tour outside of Lima. After your hotel pickup in Lima, depart to Paracas, a beautiful town by the sea. Travel on a spacious bus and relax for the 4-hour ride. Once in Paracas, take a 2-hour boat tour of the Ballestas Islands, a smaller version of the Galapagos Islands. See sea lions, penguins, and plenty of birds up close and in their natural habitat. Enjoy free time from 12:00PM to 1:30PM for lunch. Ask your guide for recommendations! At 1:30 PM, move on from Paracas to Huacachina, a natural oasis located in the Ica Desert home to the biggest sand dunes in South America. There, have more free time to explore around the oasis. Next, prepare for 2 hours of exhilarating dune buggying and sandboarding. Dune buggy up the sand dunes and sandboard down these giant hills of sand, a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the only natural desert oasis in South America. The following day, go from Huacachina to Nazca in a shuttle. Arrive in Nazca around 11:00AM and go straight to the airport. Fly over the mysterious Nazca Lines, which have left thousands of people baffled for years. Have 2 hours of free time in Nazca, enough time to visit the Cantalloc Aqueducts. At 3:00PM, travel back to Huacachina and later that night, travel back to Lima. Sit back and relax on the comfortable seats. At the end of your journey, get dropped off directly to your hotel or hostel.

Start your adventure by departing Lima in the early morning. Travel for around 300 km on the Pan-American highway until you reach Paracas Bay, a very important place for Peruvian history which is full of wildlife.  Enjoy a boat tour to the Ballestas Islands and watch out for birds, sea lions, dolphins, and penguins. Then head to Pisco Airport and take a 1 hour and 45-minute flight over the Palpa desert to see the Nazca Lines. Stop at the Huacachina Oasis, and take some time to eat lunch and walk around. Test your skills at sandboarding for an additional cost or just enjoy free time drinking Pisco Sours. At the end of the adventure, head back to Lima via the same route.

This flyover of the Nazca Lines will cover a vast expanse of the Nazca Desert, whose surface is marked by gigantic drawings and geometric figures. The flight over the enigmatic and famous Nasca lines lasts approximately 30 minutes and is the best way to see these geometric figures, fascinating straight lines, and different types of drawings that have intrigued people for years. Here, you will be able to see the different figures drawn on the surface, scratching and removing the eroded stones of the Nazca desert. These figures represent anthropomorphic beings, animals, and stylized plants, distributed in a huge and particular labyrinth of lines, trapezoids, triangles, and spirals. They have been wonderfully preserved for almost 2,000 years and remain in the desert as a reminder of an ancient Peruvian civilization. After your flight, return to the Maria Reiche N. Airport and drive back to your hotel.

Full Day Itinerary: Nazca Lines and Huacachina Oasis from Lima Ready for an exciting day of discovery that will take you from the enigmatic Nazca Lines to the relaxing oasis of Huacachina? Follow this carefully planned itinerary to make the most of your full day of exploration. 3:00 AM – Departure from Lima Start your adventure early. Leave Lima in a comfortable vehicle heading south. The trip will be long, but it is worth it for what awaits you. 8:00 AM – Arrival in Nazca You will arrive in Nazca after about four hours of travel. Take some time to stretch your legs and enjoy a revitalizing breakfast at a local restaurant (Not included). 9:00 AM – Check in at the aerodrome for the Nazca Lines Overflight Head to the airfield for an exciting flyover over the enigmatic Nazca Lines. From the sky, you'll have stunning views of the geometric figures and animals that have intrigued researchers for decades (duration 35 minutes). IMPORTANT: The overflight may take between 30 minutes to 1 hour due to bad weather or other logistical situations that are out of our hands, therefore I ask for your understanding and patience. 1:00 PM – Lunch in Nazca (Not included) Recharge with lunch at a local restaurant in Nazca. Try delicious Peruvian cuisine for an authentic culinary experience. 2:30 PM – Trip to Huacachina Start the journey to the oasis of Huacachina. Enjoy the changing views as you venture into the desert landscape. 4:30 PM – Arrival in Huacachina When you arrive at the Huacachina oasis, you will be surprised by the beauty of this small paradise surrounded by high sand dunes. 5:00 PM – Buggy and Sandboarding Adventure Hop aboard a dune buggy for an exciting tour of the dunes. Then, she feels the adrenaline rush as you sandboard the steep sand slopes. 6:00 PM – Sunset in Huacachina Get ready to witness an unforgettable sunset. The dunes and oasis are illuminated with warm colors as the sun sets on the horizon. 7:00 PM – Return to Lima After a day full of emotions, the trip back to Lima begins. You can take the opportunity to rest along the way or reflect on the day's experiences. Final tips: Book flights over the Nazca Lines and activities in Huacachina in advance. DAY 1: Lima - Paracas Begin the day with an early pickup in Lima and travel to Paracas on a bus. Along the way, stop for breakfast straight from the bread ovens of Mirasur. Enjoy some of the freshest baked bread in Peru. Then you will go to Hacienda San Jose, in Chincha. Now a 5* star hotel the hacienda is a stunning colonial estate which during the Spanish conquest housed a huge plantation worked by thousands of slaves brought over from Africa. Visit the crazy labyrinth of underground tunnels used to illegally smuggle slaves 17km from the coast. An incredible history that gave rise to the modern-day Afro-Peruvian culture. Around 1:30 pm, you will arrive in Paracas, and enjoy a free afternoon to explore on your own. Have the chance to do activities like the beautiful Golden Shadows trek — just ask your guide for advice on what to do. Stay overnight in Paracas, at your own expense. Day 2: Paracas - Huacachina At 8:00 am go on the 2-hour boat tour of the Ballestas Islands, a smaller version of the Galapagos Islands. See sea lions, penguins, and plenty of birds up close and in their natural habitat. Later, go on a guided tour of one of South America’s biggest protected desert reserves in Paracas. Admire the views of the stunning Pacific coastline where the desert meets the ocean. Afterward, move on from Paracas to Huacachina, the only natural desert oasis in South America, located in the Ica Desert. Upon arrival, get free time to explore and have lunch (at your own expense) at one of the local restaurants around the oasis. Following lunch, prepare an exhilarating 2-hour dune buggy and sandboarding experience. Feel your adrenaline rush as you ride up, over, and down South America’s biggest sand dunes, and get the chance to try sandboarding. Afterward, spend the night in Huacachina, at your own expense. Day 3: Huacachina - Nazca - Lima At 7:30 am take an unguided shuttle transfer from Huacachina to Nazca. Head straight to Nazca Airport upon arrival and take a majestic flight over the mysterious Nazca Lines, which have baffled historians since their discovery. Then, get around 2 hours of free time in Nazca, enough time to have lunch and visit the Cantalloc Aqueducts, if you like. Afterward, travel back to Huacachina before boarding the bus back to Lima in the evening. The tour concludes with drop-off at your accommodation in Lima, arriving around 11:45 pm in Miraflores.

Pick up from your hotel in Pisco or Paracas town to drive towards Pisco Airport. Meet your representative and go to the check-in zone to wait for your flight. Get briefed on the nature of your tour and on safety instructions. The flight lasts exactly 1 hour and 40 minutes including the travel time to the Nazca Desert and you will see 12 of the most representative figures drawn on the stony surface of the Nazca desert. These islands are known to be a smaller version of the Galápagos, and you will have the chance to see sea lions, penguins, birds, and even dolphins up close in their natural habitats. After the boat tour, go on a 2-hour tour of the Paracas National Reserve, which is one of South America's largest protected desert regions and home to more than 400 species of flora and fauna. Discover a stunning landscape where the vast desert meets the Pacific Ocean.  After that, it's time to head to Huacachina, the only desert oasis in South America. Experience 2 hours of exhilarating dune buggying and sandboarding on some of the continent's highest sand dunes. Overnight in Huacachina. Day 3: Huacachina - Pisco Vineyard - Lima Join a 2-hour vineyard tour and see how Pisco, Peru's national drink, is made. Follow the process from grape to bottle and try different samples of Pisco. After, you will have the whole day to explore the desert oasis of Huacachina. Later travel by bus back to Lima. 

We will leave the agreed place of Ica at 6:30 am heading south. After two and a quarter hours of driving by road, we will arrive at the Nazca Aerodrome. Are you ready to make an unforgettable flight over the most representative Nazca Lines? The air journey will be aboard a small plane with capacity for 6 passengers and 2 crew members. You won't miss any details, since each traveler will have an individual seat with panoramic windows. So you can contemplate from above the condor, the spider, the monkey, the hummingbird and other figures that make up the famous Nazca Lines. How did the ancient inhabitants of Peru draw these enormous geoglyphs? What do they mean exactly? We will reveal all these questions during the 35-minute flight. We will finally land at the departure airport, where we will give you a flight certificate so that you can remember this very special experience. Before returning to Ica, you will enjoy free time to have lunch at a restaurant in the center of Nazca. Finally we will leave you in Ica at 3:30 p.m.
