Full description
Start with pickup from a variety of locations on Naxos and first travel to the green valley of Gyroula. While there, visit the marble temple to the Goddess Demeter, which is one of the most important ancient monuments on the island. Continue to Chalki village, an ancient commercial center and a place of beautiful Venetian architecture. Visit a local "kitron" distillery and meet the owners where you will learn about liquor production, with tastings also included. Next, explore the village of Apiranthos located at the foot of Fanari mountain. Admire the beautiful views of Venetian Towers, marbled alleys, cozy tavernas, verandas, and traditional tiny shops with local products. Take a short stroll through the village and hear about its history and traditions. Leaving Apiranthos behind, drive past Koronos village and the famous emery mines, before arriving at Apollonas. See the ancient marble quarries where you can admire an unfinished marble Kouros Statue of 11 meters which has been standing in the same spot for more than 2500 years. Afterward, enjoy some free time at the picturesque fishing village to swim or enjoy a meal at your own expense. Drive along the west coast, one of the most beautiful routes on the island with an amazing view of the ocean. Reach the village of Eggares and visit the olive museum. Take a guided tour of the museum and taste small samples of delicious olive products. Afterward, be returned to your pickup point.

Fairly complete tour but no tour concerning the oil. The Kitron Distillery tour does not match the description. The guide had an English accent that was difficult to understand. The bus was fine and the driver very experienced. Stop at 2 p.m. in Apollo for lunch and swimming. The restaurant we had chosen was very correct. The beach is tiny and not very pleasant. Apiranthos is to do and we only stayed 40 minutes. In short, we did not have a car and took this rather economical option. We got home at 5:15 p.m.

Good experience with this bus tour. We got to see some nice villages and some historical monuments (a statue of Dionysos and a ruin of a temple). Although there were a number of more commercial stops in between (potter, olive oil museum and a distillery where you could of course also buy the products), but we didn't mind that.
