Very enjoyable tour, and our tour guide, Thanos, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. His genuine pride and enthusiasm for his home island of Naxos really made the tour special for us. One thing to note is that the tour did not last 3 hours as listed on GYG, but rather lasted a little over 2 hours. It was just the right length. (Just wanted people to know for planning purposes; we were glad to be able to eat dinner sooner than expected, and Thanos gave us a great recommendation for a spot near where the tour ended).

Wonderful tour of the Castle and surrounding area before end at the Portara for sunset. On the way through the streets from the castle to the Portara we were able to sample some Raki and homemade lemonade. After the sunset we were able to sample locally made citron. We did this our first evening in Naxos and were given many great suggestions how to spend our next few days.
