Even if Monument Valley can be driven on by oneself, we recommend using a Navajo guide after this tour. Firstly, it supports the indigenous population and, secondly, the experience becomes immensely more authentic. Yes, you meet a number of local residents of the Tsl who primarily demonstrate old traditions for a fee, which may not seem very real anymore. But hand on heart, it's not much different in the Alps. Andreas gave us an insight into their youth, upbringing and that of their children, and I can say that about few other guides that I have seen.
We saw Tear Drop Arch and some ruins that we would have never been able to reach in our own vehicle. Great Navajo stories from our guide along with being entertained by a wind flute while visiting the ruins in the mountains. Overall, a great experience. We would definitely recommend this tour!
We when on the tour on 16th Jan 2020. Unfortunately it was quite cloudy and we were unable to see the sunrise over Monument Valley. However the tour was still amazing with so much to see with the added bonus that it was snowing when we were there.
We had a lovely tour with Larry. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly.
Wonderful views, knowledgeable guide, Margaret, great experience.
