Full description
Get to know Yangon's artistic side with a private guide who will show you some of the best contemporary and historical pieces of the museum. From the region's earliest civilizations to its most famous local artists, you can find unique designs and receive a vivid insight into Myanmar's creative history. Your guide will meet you at your hotel in the morning for the trip to the National Museum of Myanmar, your first stop of the day. Here, you can see exhibits such as the 26-foot-high (8-meter) Lion Throne, which once stood in Mandalay Palace as the seat of the last king of Burma. Inlaid with gold and exquisite lacquer work, the throne makes the centerpiece of a display which displays artifacts and musical instruments dating back to Burma's early history. Following lunch with some fine Burmese cuisine at a local restaurant, you can pay a visit to the River Art Gallery and Lawkanat Art Gallery for a look at some original sculptures and paintings by some of Yangon's famed local creators. You will later finish up at a local handicraft and souvenir shop filled with products made with teak, stone, and cotton, before you head back to your hotel to conclude your tour.
