Bahamas on a Boat via Semi Sub-mersive Glass Bottom Seacraft

8. Bahamas on a Boat via Semi Sub-mersive Glass Bottom Seacraft

All aboard Cay Island Tours! Something nautical and newfangled now navigates Nassau’s harbor, above the coral reef and when the seas allow, over an old shipwreck! We are talking about a seacraft that looks like a UFO (unidentifiable floating object) with its sleek, semi-submersive design and 72 inch-monocular. What special features does this spectacular vessel boast? The Oculus I & II, which are 37’ Lookers, are not just glass-bottom boats; guests get an underwater view with a fish-eyed monocular. The boats’ build includes the innovative underwater fin; a curved winglike surface that is designed to lift a boat in motion, by means of reaction upon its surface from the water through which it moves – this is called a hydrofoil. In plain English, hydrofoils work to help a boat reduce drag and increase speed, thus it reduces fuel consumption. These vessels are stunning and agile. We are proud to announce that this product is eco-conscious. Our guests view the delicate marine life without caging, catching, or contact, which allows the biodiversity of the reef to thrive as it was naturally intended to. The hydrofoil design minimizes harmful emissions as fuel consumption is reduced against mileage. Cay Island Tour welcomes the opportunity to showcase, educate and advocate for coral reef conservation. The tour is 2 hours and departs from the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal daily. Private group charters are also available. There is a strong focus to educate our visitors and Bahamians on the importance of our coral reef system.

What people are saying about Nassau

A very memorable day! We were able to kayak and enjoy the beach and lighthouse at Pearl island. Lunch was tasty. The swimming with the pigs was such a fun experience. My daughter loved it and none of us will ever forget it! I already have friends asking for the booking info!

While it was not the best of conditions on the water, the trip was very enjoyable. Snorkeling was fun. We did not see the turtles due to weather but it was okay. The pigs were the highlight. So cool to see

The 4 hour speedboat was perfectly timing, enough to enjoy the ride and the snorkellings. The highlight was the pigs. But we really enjoyed every bit of the tour. Fantastic!

Captain Goody and Jamal were awesome and so welcoming! All the stops were great and seeing the pigs was so fun! Highly recommend doing this!!

Great trip, very friendly crew and really nice boat. They couldn’t do enough for us. Def worth booking people!!
