Porto Selvaggio kayak tour + cliff diving + cold springs

Porto Selvaggio kayak tour + cliff diving + cold springs

The Porto Selvaggio kayak tour is our most popular tour, suitable for those who have never been kayaking. During the tour we will show you hidden caves and ravines, all waiting to be explored! We will kayak along the rocky coast overlooking the sea where the Tower of S. Maria dell'Alto stands. We will take advantage of the unique perspective from the sea and the proximity to the coast that only a kayak can offer to visit one of the most beautiful stretches of sea in the Ionian Salento! Along this stretch of coast is the stunning Grotta Verde. If the sea conditions allows it, we will also be able to enter it! Once we arrive at the bay of Porto Selvaggio, we will disembark with the kayaks on a rocky beach. At this point there will be the ritual of the kayak baptism, which consists of a full immersion in the icy waters of the spring. This will be followed by a walk in the pine forest and finally we will dive from the cliff to swim into the Gaia Cave.

Great experience. Absolutely loved the sunset tour. Saw some beautiful coastline and got a chance to swim and dive at Porto Selvaggio. The majority of the group was Italian, and the guide explained everything in Italian, though he made a concerted effort to translate most of the relevant items to English for us. Our guide was great, very friendly, smiley and chatty with the group. Took some good photos that he shared with us after. It was very beginner orientated, with quite a detailed explanation of how to kayak, but once we hit the water everyone seemed to grasp it and we made good progress. Would definitely recommend.

Marco, Kayak instructor, welcomed us with dedication and professionalism with an introduction on the correct management of the Kayak, very useful if you are a beginner. He was an excellent guide during the various explorations of the caves. Once we arrived in Porto Selvaggio he also allowed us to dive from the cliffs, showing us the best points to always ensure our safety. A highly recommended experience.

We had a lovely sea kayak and enjoyed the trip to Porto Selvaggio. The swim in the cold spring and into the caves was great. We had a very professional guide with a lot of experience. In Summer, This is definitely a promising activity! Also our teen-agers enjoyed the trip.

Very nice experience especially for those who have never used a kayak. The guide was very good at explaining the basics of navigation to be able to move around the kayak safely and he took us to some places that we really appreciated.
