Things to do in Nara

My visit to Nara was unforgettable—not just because of the serene temples, majestic deer, and rich cultural sites, but also because I got hit with a sudden bout of food poisoning halfway through (thanks, mystery meal from the day before). But here's where the real highlight of the tour comes in: our incredible guide, Soichiro Toide. While most people would panic or tap out, Soichiro rose to the occasion like a true samurai of hospitality. He skillfully kept the tour engaging for the rest of the group while still making sure I was okay. He didn’t just offer sympathy—he personally took me to a pharmacy, helped me communicate with the staff, bought me the medicine, and even paid for my bus fare back. Like… who does that? Legend. Despite the unexpected stomach battle, I had a genuinely great time and would absolutely recommend this tour—just maybe skip the raw street squid the night before. 😅 5 stars for the tour, 10 stars for Soichiro.
