Full description

Spend a full day exploring the world-famous Pompeii ruins and the mighty Mount Vesuvius summit. With skip-the-line tickets, you'll have maximum time to explore. Start from Naples or Sorrento as you see the historic and natural highlights along the beautiful Bay of Naples.

The day's historical adventure begins in the Roman city of Pompeii. You'll beat the lines at this famed attraction and have more time to explore the main sites and far reaches of this vast UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Discover the well-preserved ruins, artworks, mosaics, and frescoes with your expert guide. Wander around the significant structures of the Roman Forum, Thermal Baths, and the Greek Theatre.

See the plaster casts of people made from the voids in the hardened ash – a sobering show of how people perished in the moments of the volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D.

After some hours of exploring, exit the archeological site with your guide and enjoy 45 minutes of free time to wander around modern-day Pompeii town. Opt for a local 2-course lunch with an included Limoncello tasting and fuel up for the afternoon adventure.

Reach the top of the mighty Mount Vesuvius but skip the arduous climb up the snaking roads, with your vehicle taking you up to 1000 meters. Enjoy the 30-minute walk up to the crater on the weaving network of paths for the best vantage point in the region.

Stand upon the summit of the only active volcano in continental Europe and peer into the great caldera. Savor the unforgettable views over the Bay of Naples. Look out for the official alpine guides at the summit who can share the volcano's turbulent history with you.

After a day spent stepping back in time by 2000-years, end your trip with a relaxing transfer back to Naples or Sorrento and admire Vesuvius from a distance.

This was a really good day out and was really well arranged. The meeting point was easily identifiable and the whole trip ran smoothly. Rosa was very energetic and well humoured, and our Pompeii guide, Salvatore, was extremely good. We didn’t get the lunch included, and we’re able to find affordable food in one of the many restaurants outside Pompeii (€10 pizzas). Our only gripe would be that we only had 90 minutes at Vesuvius, which by the time you’ve climbed as far as you can go, isn’t much time to wait before you need to hurry down. It also leaves no time for you to get a guide to reach the summit if you so wished. Overall though, it was very smooth and easy and offered us everything we expected and more.

Very enjoyable, interesting and informative trip. Our guide Roberta was extremely helpful, knowledgable and friendly. It was great arriving early at Pompeii as we seemed to miss most of the crowd. There are water stations at Pompeii plus a water fountain to refill bottles. It was very hot but mainly Roberta tried to find shade whilst she gave us information, using audio. Lunch was £20 extra, 4 courses in a cafe. Staff were under pressure, although tried their best but food was very average. Vesuvius was amazing but worth the climb for the panoramic view. It was a very hard, hot climb, sturdy shoes/trainers required. There is no shade during the climb but there is a cafe and souvenir shop ( very good prices) with shade at the top. Toilets at the bottom were disgusting and preferably to be avoided. In summary an excellent trip, well organised and recommended. The walk to Vesuvius is not for the faint hearted but exhilarating when it has been reached.

We loved our tour. Rosa was an excellent host and very accomodating. She was so lovely to our children! It was a very hot day for our tour, so I do suggest carrying ample water with you and wearing plenty of sunscreen as there isn’t a lot of shade. Suitable running or walking shoes are definitely needed for the hike up Vesuvius as it is quite slippery. We chose not to have our lunch at the restaurant and went elsewhere as we found our kids would’ve eat the whole menu that was offered. There were plenty of other food options available, though definitely at tourist prices! I highly recommend this tour - we are so glad we did it.
