Full description
Travel back in time to the days of the Roman Empire on a guided tour of the ruins of Pompeii. Buried by the molten lava and ash of Vesuvius after it erupted in 79 AD, Pompeii was frozen in time until its rediscovery in the late 16th century. Join an archaeologist guide and walk along the streets of Pompeii, learning more about the history and mysteries of the Romans that lived there almost 2,000 years ago. Visit preserved buildings, such as temples, villas, shops, and brothels. Marvel at frescoes left intact, and the ruins of thermal baths rich in marble and mosaics. Go to the Forum to learn about the heart of political life in the city. See the remains of the Macellum Market and Red Light District, and gaze in wonder at the human casts of Pompeii inhabitants caught in the exact pose in which they died when Vesuvius erupted.

Good and knowledgeable guide but entry could have been included in the price.

Our booking included that we could stay in the area after the guide was finished. Became difficult to implement for our reunion site and return of technical equipment was done outside Pompeii and we were not allowed to enter again. Otherwise, our guide was knowledgeable and informative. Exciting tour despite the oppressive heat.

Excellent information and sitings of the ruins.

We would like to recommend Michael as an excellent guide with World Tours. He was excellent in giving us much information on an understandable level, you could tell he had passion with his position. We spent 2 hours walking with him, and learnt so much. Viewed so much, and were able to take photos where we wanted. Thank you.

Good tour but NOT the small group we were expecting

The guide seemed knowledgeable but the group of 20 was bigger than I expected with a SMALL group. No earbuds so we struggled to hear him. We were 30 late in starting as some of the others were late. The rest of the group was from a different tour so we needed to leave as they went to the next phase. Wouldn't do it again like this. We expected 4-10 people, not 20.
