Our guide Lucia was gracious, helpful and very knowledgeable. She made sure we were altogether and kept us moving expeditiously through the crowds. She kept us informed about each part of our itinerary. The place we stopped for lunch was good and efficient. Pompeii was about 2 hrs of walking. Mt Vesuvius was a 1 kilometer walk straight uphill.. do at your own pace it’s quite challenging. So take your time you have nothing to prove and enjoy the view from the top of the mountain. Don’t forget to look into the active volcano.

Discover the beauty of the Amalfi coast, climb Mount Vesuvius, and see the excavation site at Pompeii, all on one tour! Drive along the coastal road and pass the picturesque towns that make Italy's Campania region unforgettable, then explore the ancient city of Pompeii. In Pompeii, explore one of Europe's most compelling excavation sites. This Roman city was lost for 1700 years, partially destroyed and buried under ash and pumice after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, get unique insight into ancient city life. After lunch, depart for Mount Vesuvius. Take the minibus up the volcano, and be escorted by a guide to the summit. From here, enjoy views over the southern part of the volcano, and, during days with good visibility, the entire gulf of Naples. On the journey back, visit one of the most prestigious cameo and coral factories in the region to see the production of typical Italian carvings.
