Full description
Travel back in time to the devastating day in 79 AD the brooding volcano of Mount Vesuvius erupted and buried the Roman city of Pompeii beneath molten ash.  On arrival, your expert guide will take you on a 2-hour tour through the remains of this UNESCO world heritage site remarkably frozen in time for almost 2,000 years. One of the most popular destinations in the world, you will hear stories about the Forum, Thermal Baths, Vetti’s House, and the Lupanare.  Following a typical Naples lunch of pizza at one of Pompeii’s cafés, you will then be driven close to the summit of the mountain that destroyed it. From there, it's just a walk to the lip of the crater. The only active volcano in continental Europe, Vesuvius has erupted many times, but it was the destruction of Pompeii and its surrounding towns that made it most famous. Climb to the top, and walk around the crater, taking in the atmosphere of the smoking mountain. Enjoy the stunning views over the Bay of Naples. You will return to Naples at approximately 5:00 PM, where you will be dropped off at your hotel, the cruise ship, or the railway station.

We were in Naples for 4 days. This tour is ideal for those who want to see a lot in a few days. There is no downtime, everything is very well organized: you can visit both Pompeii and Vesuvuo in a day even with children (as in our case). The visit to Pompeii was particularly interesting and fun thanks to the guide Andrea who managed to make everything understandable and interactive. The two hours under the scorching June sun flew by and it really felt like living in the 79 DC Tour highly recommended !!

The tour was very well organized and nothing was missing. The refreshing nature of our guide Francesca made the tour through the destroyed city entertaining. The historical facts and the evidence to back them up have refreshed and expanded our knowledge of the catastrophe in Pompeii in 79. The explanations in English were easy to understand. After a pleasant refreshment with an excellent pizza and a cold drink, the ascent to Vesuvius was on the agenda. Our driver Stefano mastered the drive in a modern minibus to the parking lot at 1000 m altitude with flying colors. In about 1.5 hours we hiked up to the crater to capture unique and unforgettable impressions in the photo, and then back down to the bus. On the bus ride, Elisa provided us with the most important information about the only active volcano on mainland Europe. Many thanks to her for the great company. All in all, the tour was very nice and wonderful

A tour of the ancient ruins of Pompeii is a plus. Our guide Franceska with a lot of knowledge. Each participant was given a headset for the duration of the tour, allowing him to hear what he was saying (even hiding in the shade from the merciless sun). Pizza lunch. The trip to Mount Vesuvius was worse. After Pompeii, we joined another group of a guide (unfortunately we don't remember her name). We are a bit disappointed because we didn't learn much about the volcano itself and the events associated with it - I had the impression that more was spoken in Italian than in English (a bit weak angelic). I recommend a trip before the high temperatures start.
