Very smooth transport , in a full mini bus so not an awful lot of room but nothing to complain about! Plenty of time to walk up mount Vesuvius and explore pompeii! Pompeii is massive so you will not explore the whole place but you can see the best bits on the map they give you and decide where to go. No tour guide on Vesuvius or in Pompeii they leave you go off on your own which is good but also means you need to be independent. Lunch was great you get a lovely pizza and free drink. Definitely worth booking if you haven’t got long in Naples to do this by yourself as it would be a lot of effort to navigate transport for all this in one day as they are not too close to each other

This is a really good day trip, you are taken to the sights and have plenty time in each place to explore independently of the group. The lunch was reasonable and well organised. The only issue we had was the transport- the mini bus seat spaces are quite restricted and therefore felt a bit uncomfortable

Revisit where Mount Vesuvius erupted and buried Pompeii beneath molten ash on a day trip by minivan or bus. Follow your licensed guide through the remains of this UNESCO World Heritage Site remarkably frozen in time for almost 2,000 years. Enjoy a local pizza lunch along your route. Hear stories about the Forum, Thermal Baths, the Lupanare, the Greek Theatre, and plaster casts of bodies burnt by volcanic ashes and lapilli. Savor a typical Naples pizza lunch at one of Pompeii’s cafés. Then, be driven close to the mountain's summit that destroyed the city. From there, take a short walk to the lip of the crater and take in the atmosphere of the smoking mountain. Revisit the devastating day in 79 AD when Mount Vesuvius erupted and buried the Roman city of Pompeii beneath molten ash. On arrival, discover the remains of this UNESCO world heritage site remarkably frozen in time for almost 2,000 years. It is the only active volcano in continental Europe. Enjoy the stunning views over the Bay of Naples. Return to Naples at approximately 5 PM and be dropped off at your hotel, your cruise ship, or the railway station.

Our drivers were incredibly friendly and helpful. there were landslides on Mt Vesuvius so we weren't able to go to the top, but the tour pivoted and we received a guided tour of the virtual Pompeii exhibit.
