Pompeii is amazing and our guide was so informative. She was considerate of all the guests and clearly loves what she does. Be forewarned, the road to Vesuvius is narrow and filled with switchbacks. I was amazed at how the drivers could manage in such limited spaces. The view from the top was great. Wear good walking shoes. The path is cinder and rocky in some areas.
We really enjoyed our trip, it was very well organised and it was nice not to have to worry about transport between destinations. We had 3 hours in each location which we found was ample time to see 50% of Pompeii, walk up Vesuvius and enjoy a quick beer at the top. Our driver was very friendly and waved us down and greeted us every time we needed to get on the bus. Buses also in very good condition with A/C. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to see both sites.

Savor a typical Naples pizza lunch at one of Pompeii’s cafés. Then, be driven close to the mountain's summit that destroyed the city. From there, take a short walk to the lip of the crater and take in the atmosphere of the smoking mountain.
Revisit the devastating day in 79 AD when Mount Vesuvius erupted and buried the Roman city of Pompeii beneath molten ash. On arrival, discover the remains of this UNESCO world heritage site remarkably frozen in time for almost 2,000 years. It is the only active volcano in continental Europe.
Enjoy the stunning views over the Bay of Naples. Return to Naples at approximately 5 PM and be dropped off at your hotel, your cruise ship, or the railway station.
