Full description

In the morning depart from your hotel with your personal driver to reach Pompeii, a UNESCO heritage site and the most visited roman site after the Colosseum in Rome. Meet your tour guide on site and start exploring Pompeii, a city that was preserved in lava through the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AC. Learn about Pompeii's history and marvel at the Roman architecture, by buildings such as shops, squares, brothels and even entire human body's preserved by lava. After you learned everything there is to know about Pompeii, head to your next stop: Herculaneum. According to legend, this city was founded by Hercules himself. Herculaneum is a bit smaller than Pompeii, but certainly not less interesting. Here you will also enjoy a guided tour. Afterwards on your way back, stop at a local workshop to see how genuine Cameos are made. Then return back to your accommodation.

We had very knowlegable, helpful and friendly guide. We thought that this trip with private car and guide is expensive but it was worth it. The only critical comment: we'd prefer to be told that Herculaneum was closed earlier then on the morning we started our trip. But we appreciated that our guide quickly organized a replacement trip to mount Vesuv. The driver was also very good and the car comfortable.

Very well organized trip with effortless pick up at our hotel in Naples by a professional driver and rendezvous with our superb tour guide for Pompeii and Herculaneum. We would not have gotten nearly as much out the experience without Elise. She was knowledgeable on all details and sites and best approaches. Highly recommend this group!
