We drove to the parking lot and had to pay another €3 per person for the bus. But it worked fine. When we paid for the parking space, we didn't get through and just stood there. At the end of October we found a place straight away. Hopefully there won't be another ticket. Had a clear view of what was absolutely necessary. Otherwise you can really save yourself this. It doesn't do anything.

While there were no longer any tickets available online on the official website, this option allowed us to have a ticket for the next day and not change our schedule. Purchased after 6 p.m., we received them the next morning before 10 a.m. A downside: I understand that there is no availability on the official website if agencies of this type buy tickets to resell them at a higher price (no added value with the audio guide).

Okay,honest review in case it helps anyone.We booked 3.30slot,we needed a late one due to visiting Pompei earlier in day.We were contacted day before with tickets&audio guide.Company said we would need to get there for 2.50&if any later,we wouldn’t be allowed in as site shuts at 4.I queried&said why sell a time slot for 3.30 if that’s the case, and they basically said it is what it is.I tried to find out if 4 was actual closing or last admission but couldn’t find this info anywhere.Company said it was the time we had to be OFF site.We weren’t happy as booked 3.30 for a reason.Anyhow,once there,found out its open for hour after closure e.g. 5pm.Annoyed as left Pompeii earlier than wanted.Actual place is beautiful,took only 25 mins to get to crater,further 5 if you want to get to highest point.But it is steep, rocky&slippery coming down.Sensible shoes a must,I saw someone in wedges obviously struggling!Also,we booked a taxi through hotel to take us,they wait&pick you up,much easier!
