Full description
This tour will take you on a guided visit of the world’s best preserved Roman city, Herculaneum. This was a rich city of merchants and nobility, whose lives ended dramatically fast with the eruption of Mount Vesuvius nearly 2,000 years ago.  See the waterfront, where the remains of more than 300 people lie, who died trying to escape by sea. Explore the Samnite house, the thermal baths, the Temple of the Augustales, and the Forum. Discover the house of Neptune and Amphitrite, the Gymnasium, and much more. During this experience you can see not only stone, marble, and ceramics that survived the eruption, but also carbonized wood, and paintings and mosaics even more exquisite than those found in Pompeii. Learn about life in this city, and the blast that destroyed it, on this 2-hour guided tour.

It was very, very informative. It was wonderful to see the site through the eyes of our archeologist guide. She was insightful, funny and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend that you get an archeologist who has actually worked at the site to guide you through this incredible project. I want to go again !

Mr Leone was an amazing guide! Made the visit very memorable. His passion and detailed knowledge brought the site to life. Highly recommend him and a visit to Herculaneum. We visited Pompeii first in the morning. See both sites, which are very different, is a must if you can.

Luciano was excellent - he was so knowledgeable about the whole site and made the whole experience very enjoyable and informative!!! I would never have found out half the things he showed us if I had gone on my own or with an audio guide, so I was exceptionally pleased to have chosen this tour!
