There was some initial confusion with pickup time provided but our driver waited for us. He provided us with interesting facts about the volcano on the drive up. Sit close to the front if you want to hear everything because there isn’t a microphone. We had about 1.5 hours to hike to the top, look around and hike back down. The hike up is challenging, but you should still have lots of time to look around and take pics, grab a coffee/snacks/souvenirs at the shops at the top before heading down. We had a very cloudy day so no view of Napoli or the crater except for about a minute of clearing. Set your expectations around that possibility. Still a great experience.

Start the tour with pick up from your hotel, the train station, or at the cruise port of Naples. Meet your driver and climb into a comfortable air-conditioned minibus to begin your adventure. Follow the highway directly to Torre del Greco village, admiring beautiful views through the window.


Begin the climb through Vesuvius National Park up to an altitude of 1,000 meters. When you arrive, set off to explore the park on foot, home to the only still-active volcano in continental Europe, the iconic Mount Vesuvius. 


Walk around the crater at 1,200 meters and marvel at the breathtaking view of the charming Bay of Naples with Sorrento, Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Capri in the distance.

Be back at the parking lot at the time fixed by your driver and return to Naples city center, where you will be dropped off back at your hotel, the station, or the cruise port.

Pick up was smooth and on time, the journey to Vesuvius was also smooth and the driver was so friendly and knew the roads well. We were dropped off at a car park at the destination and were able to walk to the top with ease. I’d say the journey from the car park to the top was about 25 minutes without stopping, to stop and take pictures took around 40 mins. There were 3 huts to grab a drink/snacks and buy any souvenirs. The toilets (not the best or cleanest) are at the car park and there aren’t any on the way up or back down so make sure you go beforehand as we had to wait! Definitely worth the money and would 100000% use this company again if we were to return. Thank you!
