Depart Naples on the Amalfi Coastal Road and experience one of the most scenic coastal drives in Europe. You’ll start with views over the bay of Naples and Salerno. See the villages of Positano and Ravello. Take time to explore the town of Amalfi.
What to Expect
Not long after heading out on the coastal road, you’ll see the town of Positano, which is built on levels from the main road all the way down to the sea. It creates the impression of a waterfall cascading down the rocks to the sea below.
Your full-day tour of the Amalfi Coast continues with spectacular views all the way to Amalfi. You’ll arrive in Amalfi in the late morning and have around 2 hours of free time to explore the town. A guided tour by boat is a possibility.
Visit the magnificent 9th-century cathedral, which proudly dominates the main square of Amalfi, and wander through the narrow streets, stopping at some of its many shops or to enjoy a coffee in one of the cafés.
The excursion heads on to Ravello next, which is situated on a hillside above Amalfi. Wagner was inspired to write part of an opera here, and you’ll be able to enjoy the best views of the coastline, looking out to Minori, Maiori, and beyond.
This quaint town has a main square where the centerpiece is the picturesque 11th-century cathedral. You’ll have time to find something to eat, or to sit and enjoy a coffee or ice cream before venturing off to explore Ravello’s narrow streets. Another option is to visit the Villa Rufolo, where you can admire the gardens and wonderful views.
