Very nice tour up to the Te Mata up and through Hastings and Napier. A lot of explanations, by Mike our driver, who also delivered 2 vocals (one in Maori language). Informative and entertaining. The feared late arrival at the shuttle was not a problem for Mike, who even dropped us off in time for a little tour of the city, so we had no time problem with the return to the ship.

Interesting ride

Although our ship arrived earlier, we were able to complete the booked tour. We took one of the first shuttles to the aquarium and met about 1 hour. before the actual start at the meeting point. The organizers were informed about the earlier times and made sure that the tours started prematurely. We drove up into the mountains, where we arrived in the fog. It was very interesting to see how fast the view changed. Just a great view of the landscape and the next moment everything disappeared in the fog. Back in the city a lot of Art Deco houses were shown and explained to us. This was interesting, but unfortunately the explanations became too exhausting in the long run. Overall, for my taste on the tour too much talked, there was hardly an opportunity to enjoy the scenery or to process the said. That's why one star less.

Interesting

All in all a nice and interesting tour thanks to Mike, who also entertained us with his vocal performances. However, the tour took only 3.5 hours instead of 5.5 hours. Very sad.
