Napa Valley Wine Train: Vista Dome Lunch or Dinner

1. Napa Valley Wine Train: Vista Dome Lunch or Dinner

Embark on a breathtaking trip aboard the Napa Valley Wine Train, a restored vintage train featuring luxuriously plush booths and one-of-a-kind vineyard views. Experience already sweeping views become truly panoramic in the glass-encased vista dome car as you are served lunch or dinner. Step onto the train and get welcomed with a glass of California sparkling wine, a precursor to the dining experience ahead. Head straight to the vista dome car, where the curved glass windows practical bring the lush Napa Valley landscape inside. The chef offers a menu created specifically for this culinary journey. Dine in luxury upstairs while your selections are artfully prepared in the state-of-the-art kitchen below. Yellowfin tuna tartare, rosemary-rubbed lamb carpaccio, pan-seared Pacific halibut, cabernet-braised short rib, blueberry lavender semifreddo, and key lime pie are some of the many choices you’ll have to choose from.  Crisp linens, gleaming silverware, and sparkling glasses will be served in the exclusive ambiance of this 1952 Pullman full dome railcar.  Restored with Honduran mahogany paneling, brass accents, etched glass partitions, and plush armchairs, the train evokes the spirit of luxury rail travel in the early 1900s. Choose to experience the vista dome for lunch when the sun is bright and high in the sky or, for something even more romantic, come onboard for the evening dinner.  In the spring and summer, Napa Valley’s vineyards are bathed in beautiful, golden hour sunlight for most of the way, with the opportunity to see a memorable Napa sunset.  In the fall and the winter, when the train departs after sunset, experience the romance and adventure of an antique train traveling through the dark, starlit Napa Valley night.

Point Reyes Station: Food and Farm Tour with Lunch

6. Point Reyes Station: Food and Farm Tour with Lunch

Discover the coastal farms of West Marin and Sonoma County which offer an unrivaled collection of epicurean delights for any hungry traveler. Nestled between the edges of the famed California wine country and the protected Pt. Reyes National Seashore, this unique region offers an incredible variety of high-quality produce, artisan cheeses, wine, local oyster beds, grass-fed beef, and more.  This exclusive, 5-hour food tour offers a unique opportunity to sample some of the best the region has to offer and learn the fascinating history that makes the area so unique. Starting at the small town Pt. Reyes Station, home to a locally-loved weekly farmers market, meet your guide and any additional members of your group over pastries from the renowned Bovine Bakery. Receive a quick overview of the tour and region before heading to the Cowgirl Creamery for 7 to 8 samples of award-winning cheeses. From there, meet a local bread maker and go into the bakery (not open to the general public) to see how they use their wood-fired brick oven to make naturally leavened bread and meet the awesome women who built the business. Next, set off to lunch where you can either visit the acclaimed Marin Sun Farms for grass-fed beef burgers (vegetarian options available) and buffalo-milk gelato or head to the shore of Tomales Bay for a mouth-watering (and informative) lunch of sustainable seafood. After lunch, visit a meadery where you can try local honey and toast with samples of champagne-style sparkling mead (honey wine) and sit down, picnic-style, at the famous Hog Island Oyster Company to savor locally grown oysters on the half-shell. The day concludes with a walking farm tour of an organic micro-farm that grows fruits, veggies, and flowers for the local community. Depending on the season, there may even be stuff to pick and enjoy right on the farm!

Our small group Napa Wine Tour was nothing short of amazing! Luis was such a great tour guide and he even remembered everyone’s names on our bus and made it so personable. He even organized all of our wines, he is so thoughtful! And the wineries he took us to were great and all such different experiences! Madrigal had such great wine and Jackson was a fantastic host. AuburnJames had such a great atmosphere and Caitlyn was hilarious! And Razi was a great way to end the day and how cool that the owner, Fred Razi, did our tastings! Overall, this was such a fantastic experience. Thank you Luis!!!

Marc went over and above to get to know the travelers and provide great service, making extra bathroom stops, drop offs, and even side trips to show us sites. He was full of knowledge about the history behind the wine industry. We really enjoyed the group and the wineries we visited. The transportation was very comfortable and safe. We really enjoyed our trip.

I had a great time visiting 3 wineries in Napa and Sonoma. The tour guide Marcos was very entertaining and good with keeping people on time. I highly recommend this tour!
