Set off from Perth and discover Western Australia on this day trip. Stop by some great scenic locations including Lancelin Lookout and Nilgen Nature Reserve on your way to the natural landmark known as The Pinnacles. After driving for 1.5 hours, stop and stretch your legs and enjoy the views at Lancelin Lookout, home to the largest network of dunes in Western Australia. Admire the snow-white dunes contrasted by the waters of the Indian Ocean. Continue to Nilgen Nature Reserve, a region abundant in flora and fauna. Wander through the area if the flowers are in bloom. If not, head over to Hangover Bay, where you can dip your toes in the crystal-clear waters or spot try and spot the bottlenose dolphins and sea lions. Following pick-up from Perth, head to Caversham Wildlife Park in the Swan Valley to admire koalas and wombats and hand feed kangaroos. Travel along quiet back roads to the lobster fishing town of Cervantes. Here, enjoy a behind-the-scenes factory tour on the processing of Western Australia rock lobster followed by a fish and chips lunch. Next, head to the mystical Pinnacles Desert for an easy walk through the fascinating landscape. Drive over the vast sand dunes of Lancelin in a custom-built 4WD vehicle before trying some downhill sandboarding. After the tour, drive down the Indian Ocean Drive to arrive back to Perth for drop-off.

We head north away from the city towards Yanchep National Park for a quick comfort stop and an opportunity to see the koalas and kangaroos. Then it’s onwards to Nambung National Park to see the mystical Pinnacle Desert for an easy paced walk through the fascinating landscape, giving you the opportunity to really embrace this amazing and mystical place. Following the highlight visit to the Pinnacles, it’s on to the lobster town of Cervantes. Once here, enjoy a behind-the-scenes factory tour on the processing of Western Australia Rock Lobster, followed by your included fish and chip lunch. After lunch we head back down towards Perth to visit the iconic Swan Valley to sample some of the regions famed providores offering such delights as chocolate, nougat and gourmet nuts. Take a day trip from Perth to Namburg National Park to see the remarkable Pinnacles. Stop along the way at Yanchep Lavender Farm and choose to enjoy an optional lobster lunch in Cervantes. Leave city life behind for a day tour of some of Western Australia’s natural wonders. Your first stop is at the picturesque Yanchep Lavender Farm. Take in the aroma and explore the healing properties of lavender, or try some delicious products such as the lavender ice cream (additional cost) from their cafe. Continue onto the pretty seaside town of Cervantes, home to the West Coast Lobster industry. Enjoy a sumptuous lobster lunch at the beachfront Lobster Shack (additional cost). Take a stroll along the Lake Thetis boardwalk to see some of the world's oldest known living fossils known as Stromatolites. In a region abundant with flora and fauna, wander through a kaleidoscope of wildflowers, including the banksia, bottlebrush, heath, grass trees, and kangaroo paws. With lungs full of fresh sea air, it’s time to journey to the Nambung National Park to see the remarkable Pinnacles desert. Made up of shells, the Pinnacles date back millions of years to a time when the land was beneath the sea. Thousands of limestone pillars rise eerily out of the desert. Visit the visitor information center to learn all about these structures before walking a few hundred meters in the desert to get up close to the intriguing limestone formations. After exploring the area, settle in for the ride back down to Perth where your day tour concludes.

Travelling through the Swan Valley, you arrive at New Norcia, home to Australia’s only monastic town which is renowned for its Benedictine Abbey. A little piece of Spain comes alive in this town, full of history, art, and architecture. Hear the local history before viewing the chapel and museum artefacts gifted to the monastery by popes and Spanish royalty. Visit the Famous Benedictine Community with a guided tour of the town and main sites including the museum and art gallery where you will find extraordinary artefacts dating back to when New Norcia was an Aboriginal mission.  Next you will move on to the Abbey Church; home to one of only two large Moser organs, originally crafted in Germany, followed by a visit to St Gertrude’s College, a grand gothic style building which was originally built as a girl’s boarding school and opened in 1908.   You then visit a produce shop selling olive oil, fruit, wine, New Norcia nut cake and breads before enjoying a fish and chips lunch and local breads and olive oil at the historic New Norcia Hotel. Then, travel on to Nambung National Park for an easy paced walk through the mystical Pinnacles Desert and see the Pinnacles from the look out over the park. If time permits, make a visit to the Pinnacle Desert Discovery Centre.  Return to Perth down the Indian Ocean Drive, arriving at approximately 19:30.

Day 1: Perth to Kalbarri Our coastal loop adventure begins with a walk along the stunning Greenhead Three Bays Walks. After lunch at Dynamite Bay, part of the Three Bays Walk, we travel up Indian Ocean Drive for some stunning coastal views. On the way to Geraldton, we stopped at the Hutt Lagoon Pink Lake, a must-see attraction just outside of town. Then it's on to the stunning coast of Kalbarri at the Natural Bridge and then we take a leisurely walk along Castle Cove. Enjoy an overnight stay in the sleepy seaside town of Kalbarri, where the Murchison River flows out into the Indian Ocean. Meals: n/a. Accom: Kalbarri Edge Resort. Driving: 575km. Hiking: 2.5km. Day 2: Kalbarri to Monkey Mia Start early to catch a glimpse of the Murchison Gorge, Nature's Window, and the Kalbarri Skywalk. Visit the marvels of The Murchison Gorge at the beautiful Hawkes head lookout in Kalbarri National Park, where water has carved its way through sandstone. Visit the well-known Billabong Roadhouse for lunch and refreshments (at guests' expense), an iconic landmark that has been serving visitors to Western Australia since 1962. From here, we visit the remarkable Shell Beach, and take a stroll along a beach made entirely of tiny shells. At Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort, we will stay right on the beach with resident dolphins living close by, within the World Heritage Listed area known as Shark Bay. Driving: 450km. Hiking: 3km. Day 3: Monkey Mia to Geraldton This morning we will meet the famous Monkey Mia Dolphins and get some up close and amazing photos. Stop in the lovely town of Denham, and wander along the foreshore. Check out the spectacular cliff views overlooking Shark Bay and spot wildlife at Eagle Bluff. We then head south with photo stops at Galena bridge and Coronation beach and then on towards our final overnight stay by the seaside in Geraldton. Meals: Breakfast. Accom: Hospitality Geraldton Motel. Driving: 385km. Hiking: 2km. Day 4: Geraldton to Perth Enjoy the HMAS Sydney Memorial with stunning views of Geraldton. Visit the Point Moore Lighthouse in Geraldton. On to Port Denison with a walk along the foreshore and to the lookout. Then head back along the Indian Ocean road with a stop in the town of Jurien bay with a walk along the Jetty. Then we travel to the seaside town of Cervantes to our fabulous lunch option at the famous Lobster Shack, plus a guided tour of the Lobster factory. From here we head to Nambung National Park to wander around the Pinnacles Desert. Kick back and relax on the bus for the last stretch before making our way back towards Perth by 6.30pm.
