The Kibera tour with Samuel was an eye-opening experience. Samuel, a local guide, shared incredible insights into life in Kibera. His warmth, respect for the community, and knowledge made us feel safe and welcomed. Thank you, Samuel, for showing us the strength of Kibera’s people – an unforgettable part of our visit to Nairobi.
This outstanding tour give by Erick who founded a humanitarian organization to support the people of Kibera. The people there struggle with economic instability,—monetarily poor, but your visit will also show you the richer side of life in this community. children playing outside with a pretend zip line. People busy with chores/work, doing laundry at a community faucet, cooking at food stalls , a guy sharpening knives powered by pedaling a bicycle and artisans making beautiful bed frames , conversations and laughter. Everywhere we went Erick was greeted by children. His organization 20 minutes plays an integral role supporting the community by bringing money into the community through work and donations We visited the children’s center and the children surprised me with a happy birthday song! the center is in need of a teacher/supplies. At a jewelry workshop I bought the most beautiful bracelet. Take this tour and support a community in such desperate need of resources
