Welcome to Nairobi, Kenya

On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi - Kenya, your personal driver/guide will be waiting and after a warm welcome he will transfer you to your hotel. They go the extra mile, making sure you have everything you need and the hotel meets all of your standards. Later in the evening your driver/guide will join you for dinner and he will brief you about the following day's safari adventure. Get plenty of rest, the adventure begins in the morning! Day 1- Nairobi - Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast at the hotel you'll drive to Lake Nakuru. The lake's claim to fame is its enormous flocks of flamingos and over 400 species of birds found there. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. At times the flamingos number in the millions, quite a spectacular sight. They are so numerous that from a distance the lake appears to be ringed in pink. The lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild giraffe and the black and white rhino, lions, water-buck, buffalo and baboons are all residents here. Day 2 - Lake Nakuru National Park - Masai Mara National Park
Today you will have an interesting drive with gorgeous views of the Great Rift Valley arriving at Masai Mara in time for lunch. There will be an afternoon game drive till dusk. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures. Mara Camp

Day 3 - Masai Mara National Park - Maasai Mara
Today we start with early morning game drive after breakfast so you can catch a glimpse of the animals that you missed the afternoon before. You'll return to the lodge in time for lunch and will have the early afternoon at leisure. Stay ready though because there will be another afternoon game drive till dusk. Mara Camp

Day 4 - Masai Mara National Park - Amboseli National Park
After breakfast you'll check out and drive to Amboseli National Park, you'll have game drive enroute to Amboseli. Amboseli sits on the lower slopes of mighty Mount Kilimanjaro - Africa’s highest point- whose peak lies across the border in Tanzania. It is quite an experience to see Kilimanjaro hovering above the clouds in an early morning. The animals framed against the dramatic backdrop of the mountain will thrill the photography enthusiast. Amboseli is renowned for its huge elephant herds. You will also see buffalo, black rhino, zebra, wildebeest and other plain animals. Amboseli Permanent Camp

Day 5 - Amboseli National Park - Amboseli
We hope you had a good night's sleep because at 6:30 AM you will start with a morning game drive, get ready for some of the most breathtaking scenery at Amboseli National Park. You'll return to the lodge for breakfast. The rest of the morning is at your leisure to rest, or take some great photos of the surroundings. After lunch at the lodge there with be an afternoon game drive till dusk. Amboseli Tented Camp Site

Day 6 - Amboseli National Park - Ngorongoro National Park
After a good night's sleep and a hearty local breakfast you'll head to the land host (Tanzania) of the highest free standing mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro. Have your passport ready because you'll be crossing the Namanga border in Tanzania before proceeding to Arusha where lunch will be served at the Impala Hotel. Afterwards you'll depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You arrive in time for dinner. The Camp sits on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater from where you get awesome views of the collapsed volcano. Day 7 - Ngorongoro Conservation Area expedition
After breakfast you depart for a day tour of the Ngorongoro Crater. The drive begins with a 600m descent to the crater floor, a magnificent natural amphitheatre. Covering 260 sq. km, the crater is an attraction in it's own right and is one of the wonders of the natural world. The crater supports a year round resident population of a multitude of wildlife. You will have no trouble spotting lions, elephants, rhinos, Buffaloes and many species of plain animals- Wildebeest, Zebras, Reed-buck, Thompson gazelle and many more. You will have packed picnic lunch on the crater floor. Simba Camp Site

Day 8 - Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Lake Manyara National Park
This morning you'll depart for Lake Manyara National Park, arriving in time for lunch at the camp site. If you're up for it, you can join an evening game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. The park covers 330 sq. km, 70% of which is occupied by the lake. The varied ecosystem consists of ground water forests, acacia woodland and open grassland along the lake-shore and sustains a wealth of wildlife, including the Big Five -lion, elephant, leopard, rhino and buffalo. The park is famous for the elusive tree-climbing lions that inhabit the woodland between the lake and the Rift Valley. It is also an ornithologists’ paradise and is host to over 400 species of birds. You will spend the night at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge. The lodge is perched on the edge of the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment and has great views of the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara itself. Day 9 - Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha City
This morning we'll make the trip back to Arusha, en-route you will experience a wide range of animals, so have your cameras ready at all times. On arrival in Arusha, after you have comfortably checked in at you lodge. If you are up to it you will go for a tour of Arusha City and the Masai Market, a one stop shopping area for handicrafts made by local Tanzanians. You get to buy various handicrafts made of ebony, redwood, and various types of paintings made by local artisans. Be sure you do a bit of negotiating with the shop owners to get a better price, it's expected and can be entertaining. Out Post Lodge

Day 10 - Arusha - Flight to Zanzibar
Check out is at 10:00 when you'll be driven to Arusha airport, say goodbye to your driver/guide as you won't be seeing them again! Your flight to Zanzibar leaves at 11:30. When you arrive in Zanzibar you'll be transferred to Dhow Palace hotel. Enjoy the luxurious accommodations and tranquil bright blue water of the Indian Ocean. Dhow Palace Hotel

Day 11 - Zanzibar - Stone Town - Zanzibar Beach
At your own pace you can enjoy Stone town -  Our tip for the day: We suggest taking a tour of Stone Town (not included) - Freddie Mercury's home - (British musician, singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist and lyricist of the rock band Queen), Stone town was constructed from coral stone during the 19th and 20th century, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. This has uplifted the face of the historical city remarkably, and still does. Later in the afternoon you will be transfered to a beach cottage on the picturesque beaches on the island of Zanzibar. Day 12 - Zanzibar - Relaxation on Zanzibar
Enjoy your free day rambling through the sun-kissed white sand beaches of Zanzibar. The Spice Tour (not included) is one of the most popular excursions in Zanzibar and introduces you to the Spice Island. It got it’s nickname as a result of being one of the world's most important producers of spices such as clove, nutmeg and cinnamon in the 19th century, after the abolition of the slave trade. However, spices and herbs were originally introduced to Zanzibar by Portuguese traders in the 16th century, brought from their colonies in South America and India. Mnarani Beach Cottages

Day 13 - Zanzibar Beach
Today is another free day to enjoy the island. Consider taking a tour of the Prison Island (not included), an old quarantine station with giant turtles and snorkeling. The prison – which is now owned by a hotel – was built in 1893 and was originally intended to house violent prisoners from the mainland and sick people. You will get the opportunity to visit the tortoise sanctuary, which contains a large colony of giant tortoises imported from the Seychelles in the late 19th century. The average weight of these creatures is 200 kg, and many of them are said to be over 150 years old. There will be a chance to touch the tortoises and take photos. Day 14 - Zanzibar - Dar-es-salaam
Departure from Tanzania
It's the final day in Zanzibar and East Africa so be sure to grab any last minute souvenirs you may want and say one last goodbye to the tranquil blue waters before being transfered to Dar-es-salaam International Airport for your flight back home. Kwa heri ya kuonana - (Good bye and see you again).
