This tour was great for a day trip whilst travelling for work. Danson, my guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly, ensuring i had everything I needed to feel comfortable. Due to distances the game drive happens in the middle of the day so you are less likely to spot many animals due to the heat. If you are travelling for a longer time I would recommend spending a few days on Amboseli so that you can do a morning and evening drive if you want to see the big cats. I’d done quite a few safaris before (including the Masai Mara) so wasn’t as concerned about this and we did spot a 1 week old baby elephant. The day trip is long so expect to be tired! The only downside was that the itinerary was slightly different than advertised and a visit to a Masai village was included at an extra cost (USD 40) which I felt uncomfortable doing.

The trip to Amboseli was wonderful and the guide and driver Nathan from the local Safari Partner was great and knowledgeable. The game drive lasted three hours and I saw elephants (also up close), wildebeest, giraffes, zebras, lions, ostriches, flamingos, cape buffalo, fish eagles, impalas, baboons and a large hippo. All with the beautiful background of Mount Kilimanjaro. The trip started at 6 am when I was picked from the hotel in Westlands, and we started the game drive at 9am. The lunch was great at the Ol Tukai Lodge in Amboseli, with great scenery. The trip back started at 13:30 and arrived at 6pm in Nairobi, also due to ongoing construction works on the roads. Considering the low turnover of tourists due to the current situation, the safaris were not crowded and enjoyeable. Also the director of the local partner was very helpful sending useful information in a timely manner. GetYourGuide was great as always! I strongly recommend this safari in 2021.
