Full description
Take a 3-day tour to discover the Masai Mara Reserve, the most popular tourist destination in Kenya. Located in the Great Rift Valley, the reserve is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest’s migration, involving over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November, is a phenomenal spectacle that can only be seen in the Maasai Mara. Most visitors will have the opportunity to spot one of the Big 5—lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos. Day 1: Get picked up from your hotel in Nairobi city center at 8 AM, then drive to Maasai Mara Nature Reserve. Pass the great Rift Valley viewpoint for breathtaking views and stop for lunch on the way. After check-in at your hotel, depart for a game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve. Return back to the camp for a sumptuous buffet dinner. Stay overnight in a big tent that has a bed, linen, shower, and toilet inside. Mosquito nets and a hot shower in the evening are provided. Day 2: Spend the full day exploring Masai Mara in search of the Big Five. Enjoy picnic lunches in the Reserve as you discover the beautiful banks of the Mara River. After the game drive, you will return back to the camp for dinner and an overnight. Day 3: Enjoy the last early morning game drive in Mara Reserve followed by breakfast. Then, drive back to Nairobi where upon arrival you will be dropped back at your city center accommodation. Upgrade your tour to include a hot air balloon ride. Get picked up by the balloon safari vehicle and drive to the launching area. Drift over the park as you view the animals, take in the amazing sunrise with a buffet breakfast and champagne. Alternatively, include an evening visit to the local Masai village for a cultural tour. Learn about the Masai community and interact with the local people.

All in all, we had a good experience at Masai Mara. We had a really nice group and saw most of the Big Five (unfortunately no Rhinos). To see all these animals from that near was amazing and impressive as well. These animals are a wonder. There were just little things which were not so nice. Sometimes, there were more than 10 cars around one animal which disturbed them. Moreover, we found out that we paid much more money than other guests who booked with other companies which is a bit confusing. There were also some little miscommunications within the trip. One the one hand, our driver was really patient and stopped wherever we wanted and spotted animals in a secret place. On the other hand, we saw a baby giraffe but just rushed away. However, this was a good experience and we are happy that we did it.

Safari at the Top, Georges is a quality guide with 15 years of experience, extremely nice and friendly. In addition, it allowed us to see all the animals possible in the park. It was great! The accommodation and the restaurant are very modest, and the bathroom borderline adequate.. the food is also very basic. In addition, please be careful, because we had paid the exit for the masai and we were asked to pay again on the masai camp. Probably a bad organization of get your guide.

The discovery of Masai Mara was exceptional. Get ready for a long 6-hour journey from Nairobi with a journey full of twists and turns, but it's clearly worth it for the spectacle that awaits you on arrival. Possession of the places in our camp with buffet before leaving to hunt wild animals. Our guide Joseph allowed us to see almost all the animals of the reserve, and this very closely. In permanent radio contact with his colleagues, we go deep into the reserve to come across the lion, elephants, giraffes, leopards and other breathtaking animals. The stay ends with a visit to a Masai village, a little touristy side that lacks authenticity but nevertheless we learn about their rites and way of life. The meals taken in the camp are generous (buffet) and sleeping surrounded by elephants and hyenas is really exotic. I recommend this safari 100%, if possible with Joseph who is a top guide.
