What to Expect
Upon your arrival at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by your driver/guide and your safari will begin by driving north to Sweetwaters Tented Camp and Olpejeta Game Ranch. After you check in, lunch will be served. At 3:00 you will go for a game drive in the sanctuary and encounter several species of wildlife. You can visit the chimpanzees sanctuary at Sweetwaters, and if the weather permits, take a boat ride down the river. Dinner will be served at the camp and at night you can relax and listen to the sounds of nature as you drift off to sleep. Sweetwaters tented camp.

Day 1 - Samburu Game Reserve - Ewaso Ng'iro River - Samburu Game Reserve
Samburu National Reserve and a Kenya Cultural Safari.
After breakfast you will proceed to the Samburu Game Reserve arriving at your camp in time for lunch. You can relax and spend the rest of the afternoon game viewing. The area around the life-giving Ewaso Ng'iro River, is home to many rare and beautiful species endemic to northern. Dinner will be served at the Ashnil Samburu camp where you'll stay for the evening. Day 2 - Samburu Game Reserve
Samburu Game Reserve - Cultural Safari in Kenya.
Breakfast will be served at the camp, be sure to fuel up for a full day spent in Samburu. After breakfast you will be met by Samburu tribes men dressed up for your visit to a Samburu village. You'll leave the camp and walk to the village to see the Samburu culture firsthand. Upon arrival there will be a welcome song by the Samburu women followed by a brief tour of the village. Spend the day with the tribes people to fetch wood and water. Learn how to make fire the Samburu way, women will clean milking gourds as the men go outside the village to usher in livestock from grazing. You will be shown how to milk the animals (goats) and listen to the Samburu elders pray and talk about issues concerning the village's well being. Lunch will be in the village. In the afternoon you'll learn about the Samburu beadwork, leatherwork, woven hut building and traditional games. In the early evening there will be a cultural lecture and/or story telling session for everyone, then you'll return to your camp for a well deserved shower and good night's sleep. Day 3 - Samburu Game Reserve - Lake Naivasha
Lake Naivasha to Kenya Culture Safari.
After breakfast you'll drive from Samburu, into the Rift Valley to your camp situated on the shore of Lake Naivasha, one of the many beautiful rift valley lakes, and home to thousands of flamingos and other avian and animal life. You'll arrive in time for a late lunch. After you check in you'll have time in the afternoon to relax or participate in one of the several activities available at the lodge such as boating, bird watching or fishing. Dinner will be served at the lodge and you'll spend the evening watching the sun set over the water. Crayfish Camp.

Day 4 - Lake Naivasha - Crater Lake National Park - Lake Naivasha
Lake Naivasha Cultural Tribesmen Visit.
Breakfast will be served at the camp. In the morning you will have the opportunity to visit the three communities living on Mount Eburru, the Kikuyu, Turkana and Ndorobo tribes. The Ndorobo are the indigenous and most interesting. The two other tribes are new arrivals from different parts of Kenya, but are still of considerable interest. You'll also visit a local school where the children are always ready to sing for visitors. The visit will take approx. 2 hours and you'll return to the camp for lunch. The second cultural experience today is to the Masai Centre and also a visit to Crater Lake. The visit to the Masai centre will show you how the Masai people live at Crater Lake and you can take a walking safari on the rim of the lake. If you are lucky, you'll see the shy black & white colobus monkey. Drive back to the camp in time for dinner and a good night's sleep. Crayfish Camp.

Day 5 - Lake Naivasha - Masai Mara Game Reserve
Masai Mara Cultural Safari.
Today you'll continue across the floor of The Great Rift Valley, the longest of its kind on earth, to the Masai Mara. You will spend two nights in this natural paradise amongst the zebra, wildebeest, giraffes, buffalo, elephants, antelope and gazelle. You will encounter prides of lions resting in the shade of acacia trees or lying low in the grass in wait for their next meal. There is a good chance you'll spot a cheetah, and if you are lucky, the shy leopard. Arriving by mid day, you'll check into your lodge and have lunch. Visitors will be asked to gather under the funky Kenyan sausage tree which grows nearby where the camp's cultural lecturer will give a presentation on the storied history and culture of the Masai who have inhabited the Mara region for the past 300 years. Each succeeding generation of Masai has had less interest in hunting the wild game animals for food unless under severe times of famine, preferring to herd their own cattle and goats for food. The lecturer will talk about the history, homestead, and people's roles within the community, the different stages of life, and the modern Masai and the changes taking place within the community. Afterward there will be a game viewing tour in Masai Mara. Enchoro Wildlife Camp.

Day 6 - Masai Mara Game Reserve
Masai Mara Cultural Safari.
The early morning will be spent viewing game in Masai Mara with lunch and a siesta at your camp. There will be an afternoon visit to a traditional Masai village a kilometer away from the camp and situated in the middle of the Mara. Constructed with natural materials from the orange-leafed croton shrubs, this experience will definitly leave an impression on you and will definitely be one of the highlights of your trip to Kenya. Here you have a chance to interact with people who have maintained their unique cultural way of life for many decades. Tall and elegant with narrowly plaited hair painted red with ochre, the village warriors (Moran) will perform cultural dances which you're sure to remember for the rest of your life. You'll return to your camp with a game drive and in the evening it is time for a well-deserved shower and a refreshing drink beside the campfire before dinner. Enchoro Wildlife Camp.

Day 7 - Masai Mara Game Reserve - Nairobi
Nairobi.
Sadly you'll be departing Kenya today. After breakfast you'll return to Nairobi, arriving at midday. You'll be taken directly to the airport in time to catch your international flight back home. If your flight is in the morning you can arrange for an extra night in Nairobi, with a transfer to the airport in the morning.
