Take a 3-day tour to discover the Masai Mara Reserve, the most popular tourist destination in Kenya. Located in the Great Rift Valley, the reserve is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest’s migration, involving over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November, is a phenomenal spectacle that can only be seen in the Maasai Mara. Most visitors will have the opportunity to spot one of the Big 5—lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos. Day 1: Get picked up from your hotel in Nairobi city center at 8 AM, then drive to Maasai Mara Nature Reserve. Pass the great Rift Valley viewpoint for breathtaking views and stop for lunch on the way. After check-in at your hotel, depart for a game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve.  Return back to the camp for a sumptuous buffet dinner. Stay overnight in a big tent that has a bed, linen, shower, and toilet inside. Mosquito nets and a hot shower in the evening are provided. Day 2: Spend the full day exploring Masai Mara in search of the Big Five. Enjoy picnic lunches in the Reserve as you discover the beautiful banks of the Mara River. After the game drive, you will return back to the camp for dinner and an overnight. Day 3: Enjoy the last early morning game drive in Mara Reserve followed by breakfast. Then, drive back to Nairobi where upon arrival you will be dropped back at your city center accommodation. Upgrade your tour to include a hot air balloon ride. Get picked up by the balloon safari vehicle and drive to the launching area. Drift over the park as you view the animals, take in the amazing sunrise with a buffet breakfast and champagne. Alternatively, include an evening visit to the local Masai village for a cultural tour. Day 1: Start with pickup from your accommodation in Nairobi at 6:00 AM and travel through the Great Rift Valley valley towards the town of Narok. After a short break to stretch and get some fresh air, enter the Masai Mara National Park by 12:00 PM, where you’ll proceed to the lodge for lunch and check-in. After lunch, relax in the camp until 2:30 PM, at which point you’ll head out on your first safari drive. Drive across the spotted plains, searching for the massive herds of wildebeest who migrate across the national park. With your expert guide, you’ll have the best chance of seeing the exceptionally large population of lions, leopards, and cheetahs that call the vast national park home. After your thrilling exploration of the park, head back to your campsite (one of the following accommodation depending on availability Lenchada camp /Goshen Mara Camp/Miti Mingi Camp) for dinner, and to settle in for a night's rest. Day 2: After an early-morning departure at 6:00 AM,check out of your room and head out on another game drive in time to avoid the midday heat. Gaze out across the savanna which is covered in the vibrant colors of the sunrise. Keep a lookout over the landscape to catch a glimpse of a big cat. On your way back to Nairobi, visit a Masai village to learn about their complex and historic culture. Watch a traditional Masai dance that has been practised for centuries, and learn about the lifestyle of a group who are very much connected to the lands around them. 7:00 is the departure time from your Nairobi hotel to the Lake Naivasha. On the way you will see the Great Rift Valley and spectacular part views of the corridor of the Rift Valley in Kenya. Once there, you will also take a boat trip to Crescent Island for about 1 hour, then come back in time for buffet lunch at Elsamere Gardens. Watch the Joy Adamson story, a 40-minute video about Joy Adamson work, their experience with the lioness Elsa and the consequent release of the movie Born Free. Visit the museum, which houses memorabilia from the movie Born Free, Joys prints of tribal paintings and other books they wrote translated to different languages, photographs and some of the awards they won for their conservation efforts. Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara Your tour will begin as you depart from Nairobi towards the Maasai Mara Reserve via the Great Valley Viewpoint, where you will have a stopover for sightseeing (weather permitting). From there you will arrive in a tented camp in time for lunch and will later enjoy a game drive in this breathtaking land to truly enter the wild. You can hunt for the "big five", as well as the plain game such as the gnus (which are are abundant in this area). Day 2: Masai Mara On your second day you will enjoy a full day of game viewing through the rolling grass of the Mara, which consists of endless plains where more than 2 million wild beast gnu's migrate from the Serengeti in Tanzania with their calves. You will then visit the banks of the Mara River to try and spot hippos, before having the option to visit a Maasai village to learn of their unchanged traditional culture. Day 3: Maasai Mara to Nairobi Your day will begin with a morning drive to try and search for what you have not spotted so far, before you return to the camp for lunch and checkout. It will then be time to say "kwaheri", a Swahili word for good-bye, to the pastoral Maasai as you depart for your return trip to Nairobi.

The experience begins at 9.30 am, with tea and fresh scones while the host gives an informal history about the farm, followed by an introductory tea tasting before we head out to the purple tea farm. While at the farm, guests are taught how to pick tea, after which they pick some purple tea. This tea will then be taken back to the farm where guests will be taught how to make their very own specialty orthodox tea (this includes learning to roast it, roll it by hand, dry it then pack it for themselves to take home). After guests make their very own hand-picked and rolled purple tea, they head off to the waterfall trek through a beautiful bamboo forest finishing off with a refreshing dip at the waterfall by the farm. Guests then return back to the farmhouse in time for a farm-fresh 3-course meal, crowning the day with a bonfire in the gardens as guests leave at their pleasure. Carnivore restaurant is Nairobi's most popular restaurant, where meat is roasted on traditional Maasai swords (skewers) over a huge charcoal pit which dominates the entrance of the restaurant. The waiters serve the customers as they carry around these swords, carving the meat onto sizzling cast iron plates. For vegetarians, the restaurant also offers a vegetarian menu with a wide range of salads and vegetables, along with exotic sauces. The meal is an excellent complement to a holiday especially as a welcome or farewell dinner. This 5-day adventure includes hotel pickup and drop off in Nairobi. Travel worry-free with the support of a professional guide, porters, and a skilled cook, as well as tent rentals, included in the price.  The journey starts with a 4-hour drive to Chogoria Park Gate and accommodation at the Kenya Wildlife Services campsite. Travel off the beaten path on day 2 with lunch by the Nithi River and plenty of time to explore the surrounding hillsides. On Day 4, hike up to Mintos Hut while enjoying magnificent views of Lake Ellis, the Gorges Valley, and Vivienne Waterfalls.   Day 4 starts with a pre-dawn breakfast before passing the Simba and Harris Tarns to arrive at Point Lenana at sunrise. The views from the summit are well worth the steep and gravelly climb. It was great to see so many animals up close and in the different ecosystems of the park. We even saw hundreds of flamingos, elephants and hyenas along the road, and Kilimanjaro in the background when the weather permitted. The AA Amboseli Logde was a very nice hotel and we highly recommend our guide (Black Santa)

We spent 3 very nice days with Robert in the Masai Mara. The Safaris were very cool and the boat trip + walking safari was a very good experience as well. Too bad we couldn't see the rhinos but for what we saw, it especially makes us want to come back!
