Had an amazing time on the Nagano tour! šÆš¶š Started the day with the peaceful Zenkoji Temple ā beautiful, full of history, and a perfect way to soak up some Zen vibes. Then moved on to a sake tasting session (letās just say my appreciation for rice reached a whole new level!). And of course, the highlight ā watching the snow monkeys chill like pros in the hot springs. Natureās VIP spa treatment. Huge thanks to our guide Jens ā super knowledgeable, fun, and made the whole trip smooth and memorable. Highly recommend!
The whole day was one of the many highlights of my trip. I travelled to and from Tokyo by train and that worked seamlessly. We were picked up and taken to see one of the oldest temples that had remained Buddhist for over 700 years. It was spectacular, and l enjoyed the path to enlightenment (just hoping it works). After the sale tasting we drove out to lunch and then spent a couple of hours with the snow monkeys. It was hard to pick whether lunch or the snow monkeys were the highlight of the day. Although it was raining that was the best time to see the monkeys gamboling in the hot springs and there were plenty of them. There was about a 20 minute walk uphill from the car park to the monkeys so this may not be the best tour for people with mobility issues. Well worth it. The guides were knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and answered all our questions. It was a great day.
