Your 6.5-hour small-group tour begins with a wonderful scenic ride from Nadi to Lautoka, to see a side of Fiji that’s away from the tourist spots, as you pass from urban to rural areas. Listen as your guide tells you about the history of the places along the way, giving you a better understanding of local life. You’ll see beaches, fields for farming sugar cane and the village of Viseisei, where Fijians first settled. Stop off at a local supermarket to buy snacks before heading off-road, climbing steep hills and crossing river streams to reach the starting point of the hike. Follow the trail through the forest, spotting wild plants that are used for traditional medicines. You’ll be fascinated by local culture as you hear the stories behind each mountain you see, path you take and photo you snap. Cool off at a waterfall before getting ready for the trip back. After your hike, you’ll stop in Abaca village for a lunch prepared by a local family – an activity that benefits both the family and the village. As you eat you’ll hear stories about of local life in a relatively isolated rural area. After lunch you’ll return to urban life in Nadi.
