Full description

Discover the Teatro Grande alla Scala, which is one most important focal points of both Italian and European culture. Built in 1778, the theater has hosted some of the greatest operatic artists, and many of the finest singers from around the world. Enjoy views of the famous stage from the third-level boxes. Explore the theater's Museum, which features a large collection of paintings, sketches, statues, original costumes, and other things related to opera. See musical instruments and other curios that tell the story of the theater.  The Museum Library contains more than 150,000 volumes and thirty manuscripts of complete works, as well as single sheets from composers such as Beethoven and Mozart. Learn about the beginnings of the career of Giussepe Verdi and his somewhat tumultuous relationship with the theater.

The view of the Opera as such was unfortunately very limited, it would have been nice to be able to circulate more than in three identical boxes located in the same place. The museum is nice. It can be visited in just an hour. Fortunately, the entrance is not very expensive. Impossible to go to Milan without going through La Scala!

The teather was nice, the costumes in the museum also, but for me it was not enaugh. I spent there just half an hour and I think in Milan are prettier places or better museums. Of course if you are interested in theaters or operas, it will be an experience for you. But I was a little bit disappointed.

The visit to La Scala was very good, and I totally recommend it to anyone visiting Milan. However, I was disappointed to see that one could simply turn up at the theatre ticket office and pay €9 for the same tour. Moreover, one has to then download the app of the theatre to have access to information about the theatre and museum. We did not have earphones, so we could only read the information. I was also disappointed to see that without paying for a tour guide, one could not access the lower tiers of theatre boxes.
