Full description

Skip the line to enter a museum which represents an intersection of spaces, objects and times: a place where narratives are woven together and stories told, rendering every intersection meaningful as it leads off in one direction or another, turning it into an intense experience of discovery and knowledge. This is why everything that is exhibited, in all its strangeness, all its questions, has to actually touch the visitor’s everyday reality, bringing about a genuine learning experience. The Museo Reina Sofia’s presentation of its collection posits a multi-narrative journey, which adopts a definite standpoint and not only keeps the mystery inherent in art alive, but also strengthens resistance towards the single, fixed reading. Traditional genres coexist side by side with photography, film, sound and dance. With your full-day ticket, you will have access to more than 21,000 works currently on display in the main building.

Make sure you give yourself enough time to fully appreciate this place. I'd suggest 2 hours! They have free coat check and there is an audio guide available which I personally found only somewhat valuable mostly because I am not an art student and didn't appreciate or understand the significance of art evolution.

Very nice museum. The skip the line ticket saved us a lot of time. On the other hand… it's free for children and you still have to go to the ticket office to get a ticket. Fortunately the ticket controller made us pass in front of everyone to ''buy'' this free ticket. Too bad the site does not offer online tickets for freebies.

We arrived close to opening time and there was no line. We were with children and even not paying, you have to have the ticket, we had to go back to the ticket office to get it. So maybe it's not worth having bought it before. Modernist art, Guernica by Picasso. There is also Miró and Dali. Can't take a photo. Very nice central garden.
