The tour was great. Long drive but worth it. The Oman highways are large and have little traffic in most places. We first visited Wadi Bani Khalid, then had lunch and afterwards went to the desert. Camel rides are available at extra cost (which was not noted in the tour description and would have been good to know beforehand). One suggestion is to list ‘dress code’ in the tour information requirements. In Oman women are expected to be covered (legs, shoulders) and this tour was no different. You cannot swim in the main Wadi unless your shoulders and legs are covered. That would have been useful to know before starting the tour as I would have brought yoga pants and a spare T-shirt instead of my regular swimsuit. It is possible to swim in the far, far end of the Wadi in a regular bathing suit but the hike to get there is up & down over rocks. I had actually sent a message asking about clothing and the reply was that there is no dress code, which was incorrect. Our guide was super!

Full description

To start your full-day visit to Oman, board a 4WD vehicle and get ready to visit the most fantastic wadi. Head towards Fanjah, where you will have the time to make a photo stop to snap some great pictures fo the wadi and marvelous oasis.  Drive through the Sumail Gap that divides the Western and Eastern Hajars, past the ruins of Al Mansfah old mercantile community near Ibra. Head towards Wadi Bani Khalid. Drive past a village with endless plantations before you reach the magnificent Wadi. The pools are cool and deep, filled with silky water perfect for a long swim.  Move on to Wahiba's undulating golden sands to enjoy the experience of dune bushing with your experienced guide. Let your guide show you his talent in driving across the dunes of wahiba, take memorial photos for you and your family, and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before you return to Muscat.
