What to Expect
Muscat has been one of the most important cities in the Arabian Gulf since the 11th century. Muscat has grown over time in a very aesthetic and careful manner, and today represents a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.

The tour starts with a visit to Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. The mosque is recognizable from afar with its 5 minarets which embody the 5 pillars of Islam. The main minaret is 94 meters high – the highest point in Oman. The Islamic Information Center and the library provide ideal conditions for comprehensive religious studies for students and those interested in the religion.

Afterwards, you will visit Bait Al Zubair Museum, which vividly depicts life in Oman and takes you on a little journey through time. You will also visit the traditional souk in Muttrah to see the finely made silver and gold jewelry, intricately carved woodwork, fragrant spices, and handmade clothes.

After all your senses have been awoken, you will stroll along Al Alam Palace and see the two forts “Jalali” and “Mirani”, both of which were built in the 16th century. Afterwards, head back to your hotel or your cruise ship in the port.
